How to Lose Friends & Alienate People
R
I would of liked for Simon Pegg to come into a more original film. After viewing Run Fatboy Run, I really enjoyed his brief move into the romance/comedy side of film, but here it's like a part two of it. Don't get me wrong, I love how Pegg delivers his one-liner dialogue. I actually watched this film because of him. He didn't let me down on the delivering of his brand of humor. I just think the storyline was steering into familiar territory among the many films of it's category. Kirsten Dunst displays her Spiderman role quite generously here. She's always been a predictable actress to me. It's like she can only play one character throughout her career. Megan Fox offers her Marilyn Monroe-esque stance in a charming way. But, that's pretty much all she is, just eye candy. If you're a Simon Pegg fan like me, this film will garner a good response from you. Just overlook the cliche storyline.

Suspiria
R
Dario Argento's Suspiria delivers everything in suspense and horror. I found myself glued to the screen from the dramatic intro which has the music itself telling the tale. I believe the music is where all the horror is. It is beautifully captured unlike many horror movies today that seem to have that one overbearing note that doesn't need to be there. "It's useless to try and explain it to you. You wouldn't understand. It all seemed so absurd. So fantastic. All I can do is get away from here, as soon as possible." You just have to watch it. I found myself drawn to red even more. It's generously displayed and brought to you in the truest art form.
Daughters of Darkness

"She believed human blood was the elixir of youth." Daughters of Darkness has that rich elegance to it. Rather beautiful and somewhat erotic in it's storytelling. Delphine Seyrig is amazing here. She moves with such grace. I do love the way she carries herself and the way she talks in that kind of run-on hypnotizing way. Andrea Rau's captivating presence can't be left out here, either. They don't make horror movies like this anymore.
