Nine - PG-13 Daniel Day-Lewis 10 stars. I think he is utterly amazing. He is an Italian in this film, his mannerisms, dramatic emotions. Him alone is brilliant. Then comes the rest. The songs were all rather good, I like musicals but I have issues with too much music especially if there is a song that has no use. But I liked the importance of each song for the actress to tell their story. Marion, Penelope and Judi were so lovely and brilliant - really well casted. Nicole was weak like normal and bit useless. Penelope was great but a character we have seen before - the crazy mistress (Christina, Vicky and Broken Embraces) she does it well though. Not a fan of Kate but she held herself rather well. Sophia Loren - unfortunately haven't seen her in her prime. But she represents Italia like no other women so I can begin to understand the importance of her character. Fregie annoys me highly - though she did do her "Be Italia" so well and still stuck in my head.

Overall it was so strong in many moments and good music and cast, just not strong enough I dont know what it is lacking to be outstanding.
I enjoyed it though.

Daniel Day-Lewis is so good!!

I cant get this out of my head the more i think about it I love it! Want to see again

The Lovely Bones - PG-13 makes me feel odd at the end. alot better than the book. but just simple. December 30, 2009

The Cake Eaters - R This is an interesting slice of life - just didn't feel much strength, mainly from the adults storyline. I didn't find much depth in alot of the characters so it was hard to really get into their emotions at all - which didn't make much of what they said real.

Kristen was rather brilliant in her preformance and totally believiable.

In the Loop - Unrated So funny, great characters and I really love British humour.
Makes me not feel as shit at my job as I currently do. Surprised to see Anna Clumsky from My Girl in there.
The guy that played Simon Froster does his character so well - basic idiot and Peter Capaldi is a brilliant twat.

How To Be - Unrated Robert isn't an actor - yet. I mean if the Twilight hype goes away and he gets anymore parts he might form some kind of skill. But based on his performances so far: He shouldn't be hired again.

This role suited him alot more - because he was just confused and depressive all the time.
Not sure if it was his "acting" or the character he was trying to play but the character was hopeless.

There isn't much growth to the film - in the end I feel he is just the same person. He doesn't show any passion for music, just that he is bored and has nothing else to do. rather boring most of the time - doesn't seem to be any message to this film.
Just pointless really. Not recommended

L'Heure d'été (Summer Hours) - Unrated The French do it best. I love the simpleness and low level of drama that creates the beautifulness of this film. Your basically just sitting in on the conversations around the death of a mother and what has to happen... decisions need to be made fast even if its painful...loved it! and france is SO beautiful I miss it.. The Father of My Children - Unrated I have been waiting for this to come up on here for so long!
This started my interest for French Film.
I found the actors performance so strong - with such an emotional storyline, so realistically captured. Which I haven't been able to find in another french film.

I really hope to see this again - it was my favorite in the Cannes Film Festival 09

Boring as hell, I like serious movies ones that most say is boring - Once is my fav movie come on. But i was so damn bored.
Jennifer Garner was terrible and a really unlikeable unrelatable character.
And its not as though it started good - it was crap from start and stayed the same whole way through.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon - PG-13 please someone help rob. it was okay...kristen is less annoying, jacobs boring and rob as amazing he is...just fails.
I didnt finish the book but it did some of it well just a bit pointless and weak. I dont get how this is an obsession its not strong enough. From someone who knows the stories point of view it was shit. Not sure if it was badly made or told badly as its not fresh. Alice was good though, Jaspers stupid and it had no realism...grr lol

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra - PG-13 Well how can I expect...anything when Channing is the lead?
I thought it was going to be a tad better, but it was okay. Hardly entertaining...bad acting and not believable characters....so nothing to say expect ill defiantly give the sequel a miss

District 9 - R I am so wired from seeing this. I thought it was really good, totally uncomfortable but really unexpected storyline. It is simple and a huge amount of action with a heart. very funny. Peter introduced it which was nice to hear his thoughts. August 12, 2009
