Not easy to imagine Hilary Swank as desirable as they've shown her (with all the boxing and the boys-dont-cry stamps she carries around), but in my opinion, she carried off the role quite reasonably. I guess it was a fairly good romance. Gerard Butler looks great, and so does Jeffrey Dean Morgan (though he smiled more than he spoke).
Though I'm a big fan of Ferrell's, and I usually love his type of comedy, this movie really sucks. Two stars for few funny moments here and there. All the rest stripped away because of the pathetic savior dog scene, and absolutely nonsense relationship the leading guy and the lady have.
Jamie Foxx got a chance to mix up Tom Hulce's Amadeus and Hoffman's Rainman. Strange mix. The movie leaves much to be desired, but also leaves behind a strange kind of admiration for human bonding.
Was better than the first part. Somehow. I can't figure out what was better. But still not good. No good fight sequence - I understand that it can't show splatters of blood, but not any good action sequences, too. Poorly pictured. Too slow storyline. Nothing new to offer.
