WOW... What a movie!! I loved this!! It was heartwarming, wonderful, twisted, weird and tragic all at the same time. The acting was phenominal. The way that Winslet and Carrey played off on each other so well was brilliant. Carrey stepped out of his typical role of the 'funny-man' and played a serious, sad, awkward character. Winslet was the comedic character in it, and brought a lot of warmth and fun to the character of Clemintine. The plot and storyline was confusing and different at first, but it was unlike anything I've ever seen before. It showed us the ups and downs and heartaches and good times of the relationship of Joel and Clemintine, and it showed it in a really unusual way. Starting with the destruction of the relationship, all the way back to the start of their courtship, with Joel only realising that when it's nearly all erased from his memory, he wanted it all back. It gives us all a glimmer of hope that even at the worst of times in a relationship, we should never forget those times that made us all so happy. It was fantastic, and sad, and I never will forget it. It is a movie that makes you think of how great love can be.
You also come to love the characters, including some of those of the subplot, the employees of Lacuna Inc. esp. Mary, Dunst's character, who realisises she was also a tragic patient of Lacuna, and you really learn to feel for her. I felt that this subplot was completely necessary, and it showed the twists and turns and how they connected to each other.
As I said before, it is a movie I will never forget, and hopefully, my mind will never become spotless...
