Moon - R This has all the ominous glory of 2001 but deals with some much needed questions about the role of science to govern our destinies. December 21, 2009

The Cove - PG-13 For those wh have ever swum with dolphins this will show you what happens to those that don't make the grade. I'm not an animal activist but this documentary may make me want to change my mind about that! December 21, 2009

Once Upon a Time in the West (C'era una volta il West) - PG-13 Now I know who Tarantino ripped off in the making of Kill Bill. The cinematography is stunning and captures the feel and look of the Old West and there exist these long periods where the camera soaks up the arid dustbowl and great prarie expanses. Show downs are caricatures of the old Mexican standoff but movies like these that first sought to exaggerate the tension without which the formula for Westerns wouldn't have been written. 2012 - PG-13 Mindless muck with all the typical Hollywood tricks amateurishly acted by second-raters. December 16, 2009

Bakjwi (Thirst) - R This vampire movie makes Twilight look like a trashy soap opera highschool drama for prom queens ready to flirt with the sensitive new age rebels showing a feigned restraint. This is how a vampite movie might be made without the glamor or ovewrought romanticism duly evinced by other tributes to the genre through the Cruise, Pitt and other boytoy celebs. December 15, 2009

Oldboy - R Bleak, sadistic, thrilling, twisted, harrowing and if you can watch it more than once you are a freak who should be locked up in a hotel room yourself and forgoten about. December 15, 2009
N/A
The Final Destination - R Has it come to this? It's all down hill after the initial track car pile up. See for yourself, or not. December 12, 2009
N/A
Taking Woodstock - R This is the story of how Woodstock got made and who got made by Woodstock. The far-out groovy story of droves of doped out hippies taking over a small town by the thousands excludes much of the music and actual concert footage so you might want to get your fix on Youtube after you watch the movie. December 12, 2009

Funny People - R Funny and whimsical. No big laughs here, just the odd inward chuckle. December 12, 2009

N/A
G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra - PG-13 I switched this off after five minutes when I realized no story worthy of my attention wou;ld unfold. You will probably like this if you are a ten year old boy who finds most adult movies puzzlingly difficult to comprehend when they depart from the good guys vs. bad guys cliche. November 20, 2009
