geart story about the life of 3 chicano hoodlum,one being send to prison where he have to learn how to survive & learn the hard way coz of the color of his skin,where the chicano in the joint felt tat he was white,the other one became a junkie due to a gang fight which he turn to morphine to heal the pain &the other whom was tough & a rebel kid turn to be a cop..it's atrue story which is happening in L.A & san quentin prison.most of the actor is not well known accept benjamin bratt....Theres only 9 real actors while they shooting the prison scene & the rest of it is real inmate....Even though i find the movie facinating & really tells us more about the street gang & the prison life back then...most recommedable for those who love movies about gangs & action........

it's a great story about apoet,writer,thief&junkie.get his 1st written play called short eyes from where he was serving his time in which is sins sing prison from there he became well know for his poerty but it all end coz of his habit of being a junkie & died.and Benjamin Bratt acts brillantly like the character himself,he did alot of studing about pinero so he could really bring the character to life..it's a two thumbs up
