The long awaited and most deserved revival of the "Batman" movie franchise. British director Christopher Nolan managed to put together quite a decent "Batman" film, specially when compared with Joel Schumacher's disastrous aberration entitled "Batman & Robin".

However there are two obnoxious things that weight down what otherwise could have been an even an excellent film, namely Katie Holmes and badly directed fight sequences. I cannot help but wonder about Katie Holmes annoying incursion in this film, next to first class talent like Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson and Gary Oldman. Is really shocking to watch and completely out balance.

On the other hand when it came down to on screen portrayal of the "Dark Knights" fight scenes Christopher Nolan chose some awkwardly up close angles, which don't allow the viewer to follow what's happening or even figured out who's actually winning. Aside from this questionable casting and flawed directing aspects "Batman Begins" is a good film overall.
