Ladyhawke
by crisIt's not a perfect movie but I'm inclined to forget and forgive that because I'm so fond of it,for reasons that go beyond its cinematographic values.Great story,a sword and sorcery type of tale, wrapped in a romantic aura ( together forever yet ever apart *sigh*),appealing characters, terriffic lead cast ( Rutger Hauer is perfect as the strong and silent, brave and handsome, noble but oucast hero,Michelle Pfeiffer looks pure, etheric and beautiful beyond words, her character has that rare quality of a perfect balance between strength and vulnerability),good supporting cast, some wonderful locations. It has magic, romance, adventure,humour...I've heard complaints about the 'horrendous' score...I must say I re-watched recently and I don't remember the score ,I was totally absorbed into the story.
Hey, you should really see this!I guess that most of you have already seen it(years ago!)and just haven't rated it but I recommend it in case you never thought of giving it a chance.

Nanny McPhee
by crisI was pleasantly surprised by this nice little movie. It reminded me of Mary Poppins (without the spoon of sugar) and The Sound of Music (without the music),it was predictable but who cares? It's a fairy tail, most fairy tales are predictable!A fun, warm, lovely story with amusing candy-coloured characters that I enjoyed greatly. The kids were terrific,so natural;fine performances by Emma Thompson,Colin Firth,Imelda Staunton,Celia Imrie, etc but the main credit has to go to Angela Lansbury (I absolutely love her),she's fantastic as the mean hideous Lady Adelaide!

Charade
by crisCharm, elegance, sophistication and style. Everything is first rate in this movie:classy Audrey Hepburn & Cary Grant-great chemistry between them, outstanding supporting cast(Walter Matthau,James Coburn,George Kennedy),ingenious script, sharp dialogue, funny lines, clever twists and turns, gorgeous settings and costumes(Givenchy for Audrey Hepburn),inspired direction and Henry Mancini's score...One of the best romantic comedy/thriller/mystery ever seen,no wonder they call it the best Hitchcock movie that Hitchcock never made! They don't make movies like this anymore ,there are no stars like this today...
Hey, you should really see this!
