A unique way to tell the story of a legend. I feel kind of sorry for Mozart after watching the movie. Such a great talent and what a way to end it.

Stunning performance by Daniel Day-Lewis. I would rather say that it was one of the best performances you will ever watch.

In general, the fantasy film genre isn't for me, but Mike wanted to see it, and I was game enough.

I was pleasantly surprised; it was better than the first, I thought by a mile, and the pacing was generally good.

A word to parents with young children: the film is really very violent with prolonged fighting scenes, etc. May not be appropriate for some kids.

Good, but I'm waiting for the Crystal Skull :)

The Last of the Mohicans The Last of the Mohicans
    2.0 Stars by Jack
    Not what I expected, really.

The story is about a dying tribe called the Mohicans in which only two are left as well as one adopted white man. These three men refuse to enter the militia for English in 1757 for they want freedom. On their way to Kentucky, they intercept Indians attacking a small regiment of British including the two daughters of an English Colonel on their way to a fort. The three men lead the survivors to the fort while two love stories take place but the French and Indian War continues.

I found it very dull and boring. And Daniel Day-Lewis annoyed me.

I have nothing else to say.
Not a movie I'll rewatch, that's for sure.

Yes, it's crappy TV-movie acting, but what do you expect from Lifetime?

It's cute and worth seeing if you're into it.

Side question: Does anyone know if the burping after meals to show they liked it thing is real?
    Only if you're into it.

Not so good. Nothing comes off worse in a movie than attempting to hit two opposite demographics at once. Goodman, Ricci and Hirsch were all good calls. Ricci is really a missed gem in the acting world and Goodman is always a good father figure.

The action is fast, I guess (define fast really), however it's done in the worst possible way. It's all CGI, which I suppose is necessary but it is way over the top in a bad way. Unfortunately they try to make the heart of the story itself serious and interesting, but all is lost in the horrible comical aspects, the example of a monkey throwing feces comes to mind (honestly, who watches this?).

When a movie juxtaposes seriousness and well placed interest with monkey poop throwing humour and just horrible machoism-cgi-bullcrap racing scenes, well, it doesn't make the film any easier to watch for either film goer. The only way this movie receives more than 3/5 stars is for fanboys/girls because it honestly is not that great, also, they claim the bad reviews are for those who never saw the series. First of all, I have seen the original series, and many more classic cartoons and well comprised anime then almost any of them, secondly, the original wasn?t all that great to begin with and it is still no excuse to create a movie that cannot entertain the average movie-goer.

In any case, the film cost 100 million to make (3 times the average movie production rate) and is currently flopping at the box office, for good reason. I must say however, that there are brief glimpses where the movie showed some class and ingenuity that made me feel that in the right hands, this movie could?ve been done much better. As a children?s movie, which it is, it?s not too bad, however, I believe that if it were given a real adult spin it could?ve been quite interesting indeed. Unfortunately it was not, and thus, quite lame.
This is an un-recommendation. It's what I do best.

I wanted to see this documentary because its subject are so different from. Ten campers trying to reconcile their Christian faith and their homosexuality.

I never had that problem because religion isn't a big part of my life at all, but it was interesting to see, and would be good viewing for gay teens dealing with the same issues.
Maybe for you, maybe not for you but a fairly well done documentary. You may know people that you could tell them about this.

Another great Ed Norton movie and a Spike Lee joint.
Monty has one last night to enjoy before he is sent off to prison for seven years. He decides to spend it by visiting with his dad and hanging out with his two best friends and girlfriend. He also had to meet with his boss that thinks he ratted him out to the cops when he was pulled in.
Monty doesn't know who tipped off the cops about the location of the drugs in his apartment, but hopes to find out who his true friends are.
The fuck you scene was classic Spike Lee and I knew this by the way I cringed as the scene continued. I loved it and Ed pulled it off wonderfully. Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the sad faced teacher that is dragged along for the night, was also acted well.
This is a definite must see if you are an Ed Norton fan!
Finally watched this last night and it was worth it!

It is a film bursting with color and filled with both disturbing and beautiful imagery. It is both a dream-like and nightmarish experience. The subplot with the cop is as interesting as the surreal main plot. And the techno music is awesome. This animated film is the most visually stunning one I have ever seen since Spirited Away.

I first saw this a long time ago, back when I wasn't sure what she was doing to him in the car.
Sad film. Why did the girl next door despise him so much?
Both Robin Williams and Glenn Close showed their great acting skills.
Funny that this is the first movie I saw John Lithgow in and it is now how I always remember him.
Definitely worth seeing if you never have!

The first foreign film I've watched. And it certainly won't be the last.

Plot: In feudal China, the King of Qin is waging a bloody campaign to conquer the entire land. He has been made a target of three dangerous assassins: spear-wielding Sky, and the lovers Broken Sword and Flying Snow. One day word comes that he has nothing left to fear; a prefect known only as Nameless has killed all three assassins. Nameless is called to the palace and asked to recount the tale of how he accomplished this amazing feat. After he tells his story, however, the King notices some flaws in it.

Doesn't sound like a film I would enjoy, seeing the plot. But, the way it was performed was flawless.

A true masterpiece. Even if you do have to watch like a deaf person.
Most of you on my friends list have seen this, and the review sucks. But whatever.

I guess I have to watcha gay movie every once in a while or the gay mafia will revoke my membership. Trust me, it's in the bylaws.

Well, in any case, too bad I chose Prom Queen...

It's comically stereotypical, cheesy and very Disney Channelesque, and not in a cute way. And what's worse, for a movie that's only four years old, it's woefully dated, even the stereotypes.

Ya, I guess it has somewhat of a good message -- but that's about its only redeeming quality.

Good thing I didn;t pay anything to see this.
    Avoid this.

interesting and odd, this little indie flick was pleasant and entertaining, but then I love Patrick Fugit and Tom Waits. While it did lag at times and certain things just didn't fit ( I don't want to spoil anything) I really enjoyed being in this bizarre alternate universe (but don't worry i'm not going to kill myself).

I didn;t want to see this originally, but I got roped in, and it was free anyway, so what the hell, right?

But it was about as good as I thought it'd be, which wasn;t very...

Slow in parts and very formulaic. Not totally horrible, but only worth a rent and only if you like the genre.

I really enjoyed watching this. It made me tear up and I had to quickly wipe the tears away and blame it on the altitude.
The idea of someone you love writing to you from the grave is eerily beautiful. I've always told people that if I can get them a message from the other side I will, but it will be like this more than like a horror film.
The Ireland scenery was beautiful. I'm glad she took her mom back there.
I'm lucky I saw this on a flight by myself otherwise I don't think anyone would have gone with me since it definitely is a chick flick. But not all chick flicks are bad right? Not sure? Then go see this movie! Shhh I won't tell.

Antonio Banderas portrays an obsessed and psychotic character, one similar to his character in Law of Desire. His character is not likeable at all, and the plot and themes are very surreal and disturbing. But this film has everything you can expect from a great Pedro Almodovar film: unpredictability, sexuality, vibrant colors, disturbing and dark elements, etc. It also has one of the most blissful sex scenes I have ever seen in a film.

OK, so there are some pacing problems, and it's not very original at all, but honestly, does anyone watch these types of films expecting to be wowed with flawlessness and originality? No

But it was fun! And although some people said Katherine Heigl's talents were wasted, I disagree. KH is perfect for the role, especially at this stag in her carreer, and she and Marsden had good chemistry.

I busted out laughing during Benny and the Jets.

    It was a good time.
