| The Elder Son - R |
This is totally an underrated movie. True it might not have a strong plot not incredible actors (though a cast will very much recognize), but it's best described as...life. This is what this movie represents the life of a russian family, with it's ups and downs, lies, various aspects and perspectives.
It's true it takes patience to watch it to the end, and without sounding harsh this is a good movie for a one view only. ![]() Quickpost this image to Myspace, Digg, Facebook, and others!

| 21 - PG-13 | Not really how it happened in real life but one helluva movie. It's got a young cast working together to win the most money they will probably ever earn in a really fast time, Kevin Spacey as a mathematician that puts this team together. This is even different from the older 21 version but it's definitely got more action and a very good soundtrack, everything revolving around one of the world's most played card games, Blackjack. | December 16, 2009 | N/A | |||
| District 9 - R |
Wow this was surprisingly good couldn't take it seriously when i saw the ''prawns"at first but the plot is pretty elaborated and however easy to follow. Interesting and entertaining movie, good sci-fi and while close to the Cloverfield premise this has a totally different perspective and magnitude and possibly a sequel from what i personally interpreted. We're pretty used with present movies having outstanding sfx so it's pretty obvious this one has it also, but like i've mentioned up it's well thought and cleverly placed only where needed or scene itself requested it. Overall it's a great sci-fi/action movie with a nice artistic tint. The thing that gets you the most is the realism, they WANT to make you believe and i suggest trying to believe since from that point on this movie gets better and everything pleasurably swallowble and exiting all the way. Fresh cast, the main character is pretty damn amazing, his accent as a dork fits every scene he's got, and yet he becomes world's most craved asset. Very interesting concept, i'll follow this in the future whatever comes after this should be even more interesting. |

| The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King - PG-13 |
This is the kind of adventure you dream of as a kid, being impossible when you grow up you settle with this to feed your adventurous nature and thirst for magic and fantasy but at this magnitude it doesn't matter the age the story itself is so much elaborated, so complicated and long this is truly one of my favorite movies ever, one to be remembered in history and definitely one i could re-watch anytime as long as i HAVE actual time to watch the 3 parts. This is the kind of saga in which each part gets better and better, FOTR introduces us to the characters and vice versa, action starts, the amazing action adventure magical story begins and you get to fall in love with at least one character (guaranteed). T2T picks up the story on more than one front. The fellowship separated now each has they're road and adventures but also time to thrust a little into the characters character and story itself that is even better written. Now this one TRotK is the end of this saga and probably the best of the series because yet again it surprised and surpassed the expectations in effects, sound, plot and the feeling trapping you to the screen. Rarely i've seen movies where each following part gets better yet here it is (make sure to watch the EXTENDED versions there're many things cut, not important but good to know kinda things). The cast is not worth mentioning, everyone knows these guys and there couldn't have been a better fellowship to bring J.R.R. Tolkien's characters out of the book and on the big screen. Seriously the quality of the acting is incredible and so thoroughly written. The effects are simply outstanding, few movies give this impressions but fewer movies have this kind of grandoire. The sound is incredible, specially made for this it's got serious feeling to it and make many scenes unique and memorable. The kind of movie(s) that have everything you look for. Every possible feeling can be experienced withing this saga and definitely one i will never forget or dislike. IF there really is someone that hasn't watched it yet YOU should, fast, i've re-watched 4 times and it keeps getting better. Cheers and Enjoy! |

| Stardust - PG-13 |
This is one of those movies that stick with you for a long time, and when the emotional effect wears off you can just pick it off the shelf and re-watch it again for that extra dose of magic, adventure, love and sacrifice. No matter how many times i see this i still get that warm fuzzy feeling, not to mention (and im not ashamed to say) i've shed a few tears, it's just so beautiful. The imagination is abound, fantasy concept put into a wonderful idea. For those that haven't watched it, DO (unless you're against this genre, which is hard to believe since it gets boring and a change in pace is the next best thing), and for those that have seen it but are thinking of it don't bother looking for another like this. Personally it's in my top 10 fav movie, though i've seen 3 or 4 times i'm starting to like it more and more, and it definitely deserves even the smallest attention if not the whole of it. The cast is to put it simply, Great. Claire Danes as the most amazing star ever, Robert De Niro is.....personality displaced:)), i know Charlie Cox from Casanova and then there's Michelle Pfeiffer, Sienna Miller, Ian McKellen as the narrator and quite a few more. There's some sfx too, but the music is outstanding and if this it's not enough..., whenever you feel like watching something romantic, fantastic, out of the ordinary, Stardust is the best choice (well it's mine anyways). Enjoy! |

| Gamer - R |
Wow what a rush. Positively surprised by everything that IS this movie. Twice the better premise and plot than Crank, more gore, really good cast , some seriously fucked up interesting parts, and a very good combination between sci-fi and action. From the trailer i thought..hmm Death Race + Crank = Gamer. I can 100% tell you this is not the case. While they might seem similar in blood pumpin action they are very different in storyline, basic idea, cast and script. Can't imagine where did the writers come up with this bitchin' idea for a film, but this movie has so much and every little thing can be interpreted or described if you wish in many ways. Here's some words to simply describe it: warning ,freedom, euphoria, apathy, sex, hate, love, and the basic idea of this whole movie, dezinhibition...and list could go on. The cast also surprised me pleasantly, well i had an advantage, i didn't watch any trailer for this movie, just saw the cast here on Flixster and i definitely had to watch it. Totally exhilarating, thrilling and dare i say quite original (not the idea, of course it's been done) but everything else seems new and yet familiar...either way it's a good feeling and personally left me wanting to see it again, probably will these days. So yeah this i recommend. Cheers & Enjoy! |

| The Hangover - R |
Wow this movie is crazy funny. It's absolutely hilarious, every fun part in it is thoroughly thought and brilliantly performed by this awesome cast. Definitely among the best comedies i have seen in years. Step by step you get sucked into they're permanent screw-ups but amazed in the meantime of what really really REALLY fucked up guys can do one night in Vegas. Such a perfectly picked cast that clearly has made outstanding chemistry together. It has action, humor, a little bit of romance but the creme-de-la-creme being the very ending of this masterpiece...the truth revealed, and it's crazy fucked up awesome. I'd truly recommend it for any age, anytime, anywhere. After this review i'l watch it again. Cheers & Enjoy! |

| Minotaur - R | This movie is total crap, minotaurs are amazing mythological beasts but this is one huge hunk of meat with horns on a blood drive. Plot not existent (well ok maybe a little but a very poor one), effects like my grandpa (not that it's necessarily a bad thing). Probably one of those lower than low budget movies with a mindless idea. I'm surprised Rutger Hauer was in it..ahh well....Enjoy, or Don't! | November 23, 2009 | N/A | |||
| The Lazarus Project - Unrated |
I wonder if Hollywood is running out of ideas, this seems so copy/paste. However there's one thing this movie proves, and it's that the human brain can be persuaded in believing even the most unimaginable situations but the heart always tells the truth. Pretty slow paced but the plot itself doesn't live up to the movie's name. Considering the cast and the interesting twists you might want to check it, it's quite suspenseful if you got the patience for it. Enjoy! |

| Moon - R |
Not such a popular one since it's low budget but considering the surrounding, the one actor you see the whole movie (the others being practically inexistent), and an interesting twist this movie ain't half bad. Starts pretty slow, introducing the plot, the character"(s)", it's whole basic idea, this guy spending 2 years alone on moon talking to a robot and eventually sinking into deep paranoia and schizophrenia might make an interesting and exiting storyline to watch, and this movie lets you think that for about 50% of the time, after that it all goes down the drain since it's actually pretty simple and what you see is what it actually is, so this part sucks, not to mention that from here on it gets boring knowing it's not schizo or mental disorder at all. But, leaving all this behind Sam Rockwell acts very good and i'd say it is a pretty artistic movie that depends on each his own taste or mood. Cheers and Enjoy! |

| Inkheart - PG |
I'd have to agree on this with most Flixster fans, it is definitely dedicated for the younger population, but the kid in everyone might at least find it enjoyable. The idea is captivating from the very beginning, the action and the effects are good too, but probably the most important thing in this movie is the magic and when magic tale beasties are involved you might doubt the very essence of the movie, totally not the case here, maybe cuz it's Brendan Fraser and he's the likeable sort and the fact that after his part in LOTR series i will never be able to see Andy Serkis other than Gollum, i kept waited for him to say.."my precious" which was fun...for me. Ok so not sure if i'd watch it again too soon but someday sure, why not. Enjoy! |

| Knowing - PG-13 |
This movie is stunning. I'm so glad i don't care at all about what critics have to say or bad reviews, to each his own. This is an incredibly artistic movie, with 2 motives the main one being biblical (which you find out eventually) and the second numerological (scientific if you wish). The emotions you get in this one are incredible, very different from Premonition or Number 23 (which are insignificant compared to this if you ask me). Minute by minute this amazing story grows on you, holding every breath you got, and the element of surprise, i would've never though a movie's ending can be so different from the basic motives, and this is what impressed me the most. People believe in something higher solely for hope, for they always need hope especially in their darkest hour, and the darkest hour has truly come. With spectacular effects and enormous proportions, this movie will squeeze even the little feeling out of you might it be good or bad you will remember it. (or at least i will). The only movie i watched 2 times in a row since 300, amazing soundtrack, visually incredible and truly deep movie, add good acting and i can't see a reason why this shouldn't get your attention. The only movie it could relate to is The Da Vinci Code but only for having a biblical motive and the "number thingy" that's pretty popular nowadays. The only other movie as artistic as this would be Sunshine, there's always been something fascinating about the sun, both destructive and life giving, indeed Knowing is not an original movie but truly beautiful in every aspect. (guess i'd suck as a critic, i'm just a sucker for movies emotionally and visually outstanding). Cheers & Enjoy! |

| Crank 2: High Voltage - R |
Resurrected with a new heart, C.C. is going against the Triads in this action-packed movie with plenty of everything to go around. Even from the very beginning you feel the blood pumping on screen, Chev running like crazy smashing, fucking, shooting everyone in his way like a mad sociopath pumped with horse hormones. One of the most exaggerated movies since Shoot'Em Up, with a great difference and i mentioned it before this one has it ALL, if not too much (and i never though i'd say this) nudity, electricity and the word "cunt" (typical but enough already, it's getting lame). Another sex scene with that sexy Amy Smart which pretty obvious everyone was looking forward to, sex does sell good, and never endless action, he doesn't even take a breath before going off to rub the next old lady, shoot the next guy and fuck his wife(? girlfriend..whatever) again and again. I rated 5 stars for many reasons, the actors themselves ohh come on Jason and Amy fucking on the race track....it's never been done (or has it?), though it's intense and hardcore it's done and written with taste, and again the permanently pumping action and adrenaline that is always entertaining. I would gladly watch it again, and again. Enjoy! |

| Eagle Eye - PG-13 | Ok might just be me since i haven't watched a good conspiracy action pumped movie like this in a while, but this movie rocks. Action cleverly written, Shia....heck all of the actors performed incredible, with a pinch of sci-fi added and some parallel plots eventually intertwining, thus leading to a ? and more exitement. Never dull a moment, the concept not too elaborated it's pretty basic but here basic is good. Enjoy! | November 22, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian - PG | First was better, this one is entertaining, but seems to have gone dull compared to it's predecessor. i don't know what to think to be honest, just check it out...you might like it. | November 22, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Yes Man - PG-13 | Not one of Jim Carrey's best comedies but it does have his incredible sense of humor and uniquecity. A little bit of romance here and there which always does the trick if others fail. The concept of this movie i find quite amazing. Saying YES to everything would be very very interesting and i'm sure i'm not the only one wondering what it would be like, the message of this movie being an optimistic one, add Jim's humor to it and you get this exiting comedy. | November 22, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Monsters vs. Aliens - PG | took me long enough to finally pick an animation to watch, and as a first impression it was fun, new, but i expected more out of the plot or design alone, as for the performance of the actors...it was great. interesting and entertaining. Not sure if this one is for all ages, seems more inclined towards the younger viewers, but still fun, especially if you need a change a pace like i did. Enjoy! | November 22, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Terminator Salvation - PG-13 | The story continues in a brilliant way, different but fresh and totally "disconnected" from the previous Terminator movies which is good, this movie might be the jolt to restart a new exiting series with the current cast and plot. Christian Bale somehow seemed out of his element while Sam Worthington seemed to make this whole movie clinch, but either way i'm pleased and exited to have watched it. The movie ends leaving space for more to come. The effects were very...very good, some scenes, although not unique or new, were outstanding. I'm glad i took the time to finally watch it, it was quite enjoyable.! | November 22, 2009 | N/A | |||
| 9 - PG-13 | 9 pieces of one's soul to save humanity. A simple concept and easy to grasp. Within the first 10 minutes the characters are introduced and the action starts. At first i thought it might be too short but no it's just right. A fast paced animation movie with the magic and why not even suspense of Shane Acker, Tim Burton and Pamela Pettler (whoever she is). Great voices that bring to life this raggy shaggy mini puppets that make a difference in this post-apocaliptic world. The cgi is outstanding, and this whole thing pretty good written, not to mention it's one hell of an artistic movie but it lacks more.....something i dunno. Point is it's not one to be remembered by, but deffinitely worth the watch. | November 19, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - PG |
This movie's evolved so much from it's predecessors, noticeably. Begins with various flashes including parts of the movie, thrown here and there for confusion but definitely many questions are answered in this one. Characters have clearly grown especially Draco whose performance was surprisingly good, as well as other complications like love, hate, secrets and old hatreds, all these are revealed and answered. Not to mention some serious fights, the long awaited fight between Draco and Harry, some funny good humor this time, action, drama....i'm telling you i was impressed and i'm not a Harry Potter fan. This is without a doubt one of the best in the H.P. movies so far, though some of you surely beg to differ. It's really nice seeing all this magic this movie had the first 2 movies be turned into such an artistic concept. Definitely worth the watch. Enjoy!!! |
