The Mechanik (The Russian Specialist)

Surprisingly good B action movie with poor man dolph doing would he does best! The acting is very good for this type of movie with some excellant action shoot outs.Dont get me wrong its is your grade B stuff and looks it too bujt dolph who directs this this does a descent job .Worth a look if you like these type of action movies because for a change this a very good stuff!

Funny Games

Very strange and wierd movie.I wanted to like it but in the end got tired of it.There are sences of just plain boredom.I no this is a remake but have read that there is no differents to either movies accpect for the actors.Im sure there are a lot of people who enjoy this but for me it was rather disappointing.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Ice Age 3)

Disappointing third outing for this series,being rather simple in story and thin of laughs.Only saving grace is the animation being very good and with the climax showdown at the end it looked outstanding.This reminds my of the third shrek movie which was also disappointiong, too which the makers were re-using jokes for the first two and its the same for ice age.Children will still get a kick out of this so not all bad but adults will feel short changed about this..

Saw VI

What can i say about this long in the tooth series.Well nothing! I loved the first and the second and third were great but now there are getting stupid and boring.its the same thing time and time again with the story getting out of hand we get new players on each film which only added to nothing.I think the torture porn thing is now done and i wish then could just stop.Even now that saw 6 did'nt do well at the box office and was beaten by a cheaper and better horror film (paranormal activity) to the number one spot will they listen that maybe its now a die cow????...................proberly not!!!!

Pontypool

wow what a great movie,a zombie movle with hardly any zombies,sounds weired but not really.Like the blair witch project its uses one key thing your imagination and its works.Your mind is a great tool and gets a work out here.When they are describing details over the radio or trying to get eye witness accounts about the outbreak you put yourself in there prostion and it works well.Love these kind of movies.Anyone one who is looking for a more normal zombie movie with zombies in it the maybe this is not for you.Anyone else how like that horror with differents check this little gem out.
Plus just read there is a sequel due out later next yeat 2010.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

A beautiful and sweeping epic told in fine Hollywood style and a running time to match. Brad pitt and Cate Blanchett are on fine form but the real star go?s to the sfx of how they turned brad pitt to look old and through the years making him look younger. Also how they capture the time periods from 1918 to the 60?s and to the present. Again David Fincher proves that he can direct and tell a story with using state of the art sfx to tell he?s story. The movie moves along steady and is given the story 3 acts in the life of Benjamin button. In the end there is no happy ending just the end of a unusual and interesting person living most of he?s life alone but meeting certain people alone the way. Lot of critics compare this to Forrest Gump and yes there are very similar but don?t put you off .This as a style of its own and a good one too.

Brüno (Bruno)

Laugh and your will cry and with that you will have your hands coved over your eyes with some of the acts put on display in Bruno. Sacha Baron Cohan as done it again with another of he?s outrageously characters put on to the big screen. It?s is hilariously offensive and will upset some people but for the rest of us it side splitting fun. Anyone who likes Celine Dion ?my heart will go on? will never hear that song in the same light ever again. And with a slim running time of 80mins it never outstays its welcome.

Living Hell (Organizm)

A good first half with a good but quick set up.Only to be let down by a boring second half.Sfx are servicable but are abit ropey in a few sences.Acting is not bad for this kind of low budget movie.

The Broken

A well make thriller/horror with good performances and great direction with a intresting promise.Its is let down by what little gos on, there are sence of just pure boredom wondering if something is going to happen.And with the lack of any explanation in to won't really is going on is a let down and will piss a lot of viewer off including me.The whole thing isn't all to orignal with hint of other movies like "invasion of the body snatchers and Mirriors" put to good mesurer.
All in all ok movie well made lust needed more meat on its bones...

My Sister's Keeper

To start with i did not know much about this movie apart from what my wife told me.So i went in with a fresh head and at least i could not comparing the film to book.Must start by saying that this is not my normal cup of tea and would normal wait for dvd or even sky for this,but to start with the actors are so good in this that i can not say a bad word on any of there performance,maybe only that one or two get less screen time then some others thats all.Yes its a tear jerker but with so many of them having the big payoff at the end this one is all the way through with the help of flashbacks made by characters telling their story which leads them to the present.Yes this may not by everyone taste but its a worth while movie, again with outstanding performances and anther great director turn for Nick cassaveres.

Land of the Lost

Not the biggest turkey i was lead to believe.Will ferrell doing what he does best.Some great moment and the supporting cast of anna friel and danny Mcbride add a little more comic class.The climax is a little poor but could be worse and the 90 min running time is about right.

Miss March

This is up there with Harold and Kumar,dumb and dumber and dude weres my car,so its swich off your brain and go into natural.The film as many funny and gross out moments but is let down by a unknown double act which are so so on the acting.But with the movie moving like a feight train you let that go and enjoy there slap stick hurmour.Its one of those movies that will enjoy repeat viewing....

Intresting and surprise movie not about a virus spreading but the after math and the effects and of 4 survivers trying to get to a safe place and out run the virus.Its a kind of road movie and is more characters driven.Anyone looking for a 28 days later clone will be disappointed.The 4 leads are great in there roles.The movie is bleak and dark and is little hard to watch in places as i was thinking what would i do in there situration......not easy!
Over all a great horror/drama movie and worth people viewing.

12 Rounds

Better then i was expecting with some fine action sets.Renny Harlin back on action duty after some bad directing chooses!John Cena is not bad bit wooded but maybe with a few more films he could be going somewhere.
A good couple of hrs to spent.

The Hangover

Side splitting and painfully funny,i havn't laugh so much in a long time.Todd Phillips back to he's road trip and old school days and on fine form.
The main 4 leads are all funny and bounce off each other in fine style with some great one liner to have and same gross out humour to boot.If yeah wanting to see this and have'nt go now its a blast.

Up the Creek

Was lucky enough to find a old VHS tape of this pure 80's gem.Has aged badly but they dont make them like this any more.A cross between Porkys and animal house its just crazy fun.Worth checking out if you can find it....
