Adventures in Babysitting
by TheIt was fun to see Vincent D'Onofrio and Anthony Rapp in early parts. And that Parker Lewis's kid-sister. What ever happened to her?
Elisabeth Shue is hot, hot, hot and Penelope Ann Miller is a pain, pain, pain..
On the whole, I'll grade it low. because there aint nothing fresh or remotley funny in it.posted 168 days ago -
I recommend you see...Another Franco Nero for you today.
¡Viva la muerte... tua! (Don't Turn the Other Cheek) (Long Live Your Death)
by TheFranco Nero an Eli Wallach is an awesome duo. Both rough and funny.
Nero makes a break-away from the stone-cold characters that he usually plays.
What Lynn Redgrave is doing in this one I can only speculate. But I find her presence unnecessary(of course she's in it because Franco wanted to be nice to his long-time girlfriends sister).
Eli Wallach is the man in this one. Can't belive the man is still acting at 94.posted 168 days ago -

Troll
by TheWell don't fool yourself, it's bad.
A bit of comic and some strange Troll spawns makes it worthwhile though.
The kid(Jenny Beck) "re-placed" by the troll is freaky as fuck. She scares the shit out me even. Bastard..posted 168 days ago -

La Noche de Walpurgis (The Werewolf Versus Vampire Women) (Werewolf Shadow) (Blood Moon)
by TheAmuzing.
But it has it's major flawes. What the hell did his sister has to do with anything? Why didn't they show more snuffings? Why was it that the girl only wanted to stay in the castle after her friend got turned in to a vampire and then killed by the man of the house, Paul Naschy? Was it in fact the main actresses that was retarded and not the sister of the wolf? Can a werewolf suck the blood out of a vampire?
Questions that may never find an answer.
As far as movies on the subject werewolves sv. vampires, this was a good one.
Much better than Underworld anyway.posted 168 days ago -

by TheThat was so awesome I almost came in my pants.
No seriously. This is so fuckin' good I don't even know how to express myself.
Half-breed Keoma returns to his ghostly desert hometown to settle the score with his mothers killers and his half-brothers.
Earie, spooky soundtrack, sand blowing in your face(or was that just the drugs?) and raw violence til the sun come up.

Unbreakable
by AmeetaIs it possible to get a little too carried away with all this talk about heroes and villains? But then, what makes the distinction between a hero and a villain? Typical of all Shyamalan movies, we had the supernatural element, where Bruce Wilis, plays a character that does not seem to be susceptible to illness and injury. I was impressed with Samuel L Jacksons' role, Mr.Glass, a fragile and delicate person who has a well developed passion for comics and watching how his relationship with Wilis' character develops.
Pay attention to the play on colors. Progresses a little too slowly but other than that, you should give this a go.
Elijah Price: Your bones don't break, mine do. That's clear. Your cells react to bacteria and viruses differently than mine. You don't get sick, I do. That's also clear. But for some reason, you and I react the exact same way to water. We swallow it too fast, we choke. We get some in our lungs, we drown. However unreal it may seem, we are connected, you and I. We're on the same curve, just on opposite ends.
...
Elijah Price: You know what the scariest thing is? To not know your place in this world. To not know why you're here... That's... That's just an awful feeling.
David Dunn: What have you done...?
Elijah Price: I almost gave up hope. There were so many times I questioned myself...
David Dunn: You killed all those people...
Elijah Price: But I found you. So many sacrifices, just to find you.
David Dunn: Jesus Christ...
Elijah Price: Now that we know who you are, I know who I am. I'm not a mistake! It all makes sense! In a comic, you know how you can tell who the arch-villain's going to be? He's the exact opposite of the hero. And most times they're friends, like you and me! I should've known way back when... You know why, David? Because of the kids. They called me Mr Glass

2019 - Dopo la caduta di New York (After the Fall of New York)
by TheWhat can you say.
An early mix between Children of Men and Escape from New York.
After the atomic wars has ruined most of the planet and left women sterile. Mankind lives like out-laws in a Mad Max kinda world.
When the rumor starts to spread that there is a fertile woman hidden somewhere in New York. Our hero sets out to find her.
This movie has no merits at all. The sound-effects, special-effects, acting, dialouge, make up and everything else is really low quiality.
Somehow though, this film made some sort of imprint on me.
I even enjoyed the cheezy laser beem-guns.
Most of you will hate it. But there are some of you who will appreciate all the charmy crap that this movie has to offer.

I recommend you see...Respect: Its Polanski. Same person who brought us Rosemary's Baby and The Pianist. You should see this.
Oliver Twist
by AmeetaI have always respected the work of Roman Polanski. My beef with this version is that certain parts from the book that i considered were important was left out. Other than that, its a brilliant book to film adaptation. Set in 19th century london, this is about a young boy's adventures, in the realist sense. I was impressed with how entertaining i found this film. Ofcourse, Polanski is magic. A strong recommendation.
Workhouse Boy: [Woken by boy pacing back an forth] Tom, give it a rest will ya? We're trying to sleep.
Hungry Boy: Can't sleep. Too hungry.
Workhouse Boy: We're all hungry.
Hungry Boy: Yeah, but I'm scared.
Workhouse Boy: Scared? Of What?
Hungry Boy: I'm so hungry I'm scared I might eat the boy that sleeps next to meposted 203 days ago -
I recommend you see...A classic. Strongly recommended for you to see.
To Kill A Mockingbird
by AmeetaBased on the novel by Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird is about the defense of a man accused of a crime. By now, you all know how much i enjoy a story that is told in the form of a narration, and this was from the perspective of a child. Extra credit for that. Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch deserved his Oscar for his moving performace in this. This story is an accurate portrayal of childhood innocence, racism and the extents of moral tolerance that exist in a society. From the little that i am aware of about american history, the period that this film is from, the audience watching in the 1960's were extremely familiar with racial prejudice but rarely had it been displayed when a white man treated an African American with equality and respect and had an unbiased view to delivering justice. The cinematography is excellent. This movie was an amazingly good adaption of the book, and it a well made film. Strongly recommended to all.
Atticus Finch: I remember when my daddy gave me that gun. He told me that I should never point it at anything in the house; and that he'd rather I'd shoot at tin cans in the backyard. But he said that sooner or later he supposed the temptation to go after birds would be too much, and that I could shoot all the blue jays I wanted - if I could hit 'em; but to remember it was a sin to kill a mockingbird.
Jem: Why?
Atticus Finch: Well, I reckon because mockingbirds don't do anything but make music for us to enjoy. They don't eat people's gardens, don't nest in the corncrib, they don't do one thing but just sing their hearts out for usposted 203 days ago -
I recommend you see...Can anyone tell me if the 1963 version of Lord of the Flies is worth watching, because this wasn't a bad adaptation of the book.
Lord of the Flies
by AmeetaNot at all boring.
Piggy: We did everything just the way grownups would have. Why didn't it work? Things would be much better here if it wasn't for him. I wish he was dead.
Ralph: No, you don't.
Piggy: I do! We could just give up and join his tribe. Then we'd at least be with the others.
Ralph: No, Piggy.
Piggy: Ralph... I can't see.
Ralph: I know.posted 203 days ago -

Big Brother is watching.
1984 (Nineteen Eighty-Four)
by AmeetaI consider this the original, older version of Equilibrium, starring Christian Bale, of sorts. Facist states scare me. 1984 is an extremely important literary work. Most of you will not like this because it will seem to be presented very bleakly, however, its merely reflecting the words from the book. Worth watching all the way through.
Winston Smith: I know you'll fail. Something in this world... some spirit you will never overcome...
O'Brien: What is it, this principle?
Winston Smith: I don't know. The spirit of man.
O'Brien: And do you consider yourself a man?
Winston Smith: Yes.
O'Brien: If you're a man, Winston, you're the last man. Your kind is extinct. We are the inheritors. Do you realize that you are alone? You are outside history. You unexist. Get up.
[Winston gets up and O'Brien shows him his reflection in a mirror. Winston is disheveled and beaten]
O'Brien: *That* is the last man. If you are human, *that* is humanity.posted 203 days ago -
