Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story - R Mild laughs but overall nothing special. John C. Reilly isn't really leading man material. March 7, 2009

Watchmen - R Extremely stylish, mature and sometimes brutal with a cast that does well, even great sometimes. However, it's lacking a driving force behind the plot.

Think I'll go read the book now...

Smokin' Aces - R Purely just an entertaining action film with a slight (very slight actually) twist at the end that isn't really important to the plot. Acting is all fine, nothing that stands out. March 7, 2009

The International - R An action thriller that lacks both of those things for the most part with an incredibly underused Naomi Watts but a suitable Clive Owen. The highlight is the shootout in the Guggenheim. March 7, 2009

Hancock - PG-13 Well, it has a few chuckle-worthy moments and it's best when Will Smith and Charlize Theron are facing off against each other, so not to bad overall. February 21, 2009

The Ring - PG-13 Not even Naomi Watts being in this could make me see it. February 14, 2009

The Ring Two - PG-13 February 14, 2009

The Blair Witch Project - R I doubt I'd sleep again if I watched this. February 14, 2009

Out of Sight - R An entertaining crime/thriller/romance. February 14, 2009

High School Musical 4: East Meets West - Unrated You have got to be kidding me. A FOURTH?? Give it up already. February 14, 2009

Yes Man - PG-13 It's more a pleasant movie to watch, rather than a laugh-out-loud comedy, but does have a few moments. February 14, 2009

Fanboys - PG-13 February 14, 2009

Honey - PG-13 You might want to be a Jessca Alba fan to watch this. The script just screams "we're trying to sound credible" but it failed. Compared to other movies in the same vein the dancing and so forth isn't even that good. February 7, 2009

Gladiator - R Just generally great. A very well written script and the acting was just top notch. January 31, 2009

The Uninvited - PG-13 January 30, 2009

Catwoman - PG-13 I may have a habit of watching movies everybody says are bad but not this time. Unless it comes on tv. January 30, 2009

The Unborn - PG-13 January 22, 2009

My Bloody Valentine 3-D - R January 22, 2009

The Day the Earth Stood Still - PG-13 It's actually a bit dull in between the more action orientated scenes where stuff actually happens. Special effects were good, but the negatives outweigh the positives. January 22, 2009

Monster's Ball - R January 21, 2009

Black Water - R The crocodile version of Open Water, but way better since they have a chance of escaping. Overall I found it a little dull, although that was to be expected considering the context. However, it had its moments of suspense and music was used well to heighten the suspense. The use of real crocs was interesting but it was easy to see where the movie had been edited. The Women - PG-13 Don't let the poster fool you - it might appear that the featured actors would get something close to even screen time but, alas, they do not. Candice Bergen and Bette Midler have roles that are almost cameos, they're so underused, and the two most entertaining, Jada Pinkett Smith and Debra Messing, are hardly given a look in. It's mostly an Annette Benning and Meg Ryan show, which isn't that great a thing, considering Meg Ryan has a very bland character and whilst Annette Benning is pretty good, her character comes very close to being two-dimensional. However, there are a few chuckles throughout and the final scene is pretty funny, so all in all, it ends up being quite likeable but not particularly impressive or memorable. January 19, 2009
