My favourite non-series film. The acting. The scenery. I love every character. More or less, it's an ensemble production that I cherish oh so much. Gladiator truly deserved every Oscar and BAFTA it was awarded.
One of the most brilliant films I've seen in my life. Thank you Mr. Kaurismäki for making a masterpiece. The acting was spot on from everyone. The story is interesting. With a small budget, but cleverly using London as a backdrop for the film, this film is nothing boring to look at. The cameo from the Clash's Joe Strummer was ace as well.
Mr. Mercer is my homie. Norrington on the other hand got raped. There's some wooden acting from the young ones, but all Brits over 30 in this movie, Depp, and some others make it a gem. And the story's great. I can't wait for the next. Midnight!
Great film! Unlike many rock band movies, this one definitely has a plot and some brains. Much recommended to any Slade fans, as well as fans of 70s rockbands and 70s British cinema.
I've been wondering, since I've seen stills from this movie, are there cut scenes? It felt a bit rushed. However, a must for anyone who enjoyed the grimness of the 7th Seal. Thought that one was a cold bucket of water? Try The Devil's Wanton. Curt Masreliez shines in his short role. What a git!
Philippe Leroy was great in this. What starts out as a sadistic-near psychological type of horror film turns into a sweet romance. Sadly, the film couldn't end on that note and had to go and forget 45 minutes worth of decent development to give a twist the audience didn't need.
Good grief! This was excellent! Loved every minute of it. BTW this was made in 1978 and Hopkins is NOT in it. So only rate this if you're seen this one. Thanks. Anthony Perkins is amazing in it.
Just watched this to honour Isaac after his passing. I didn't expect much except for a few cheap laughs. Boy, was I wrong. The soundtrack's awesome, first of all. Secondly, the performances are solid. They just don't make films like they used to.
Ignore the reviewers. This is one of the best action films I have ever seen in my life. Fast-paced, epic, gritty and violent (as war is), and actually about a current event people should be aware of (Burma), even if they learn of it through this film. Stallone doesn't do a lot of talking, but he makes his words count. The characters are believable and the reactions the civilian-types give during the fighting, etc makes perfect sense. I've got to say that if you have any reservations seeing this film over the reviews, ignore them and see it. If you are squeamish, do not.
Boss Nigger is truly a must-see cinematic experience. The Blackexploitation flick delivers enough action and relatively solid performances to keep an average person interested. Sadly, finding this film in good transfer is near impossible.
Great action film. How this has 3 stars here is beyond me and is just an example of the pedestrian tastes you get on this site. German guy - Winfried - with the metal blast mask (Richard Sammel) and Louis (Pascal Greggory) are badasses. Louis rocks out in the second half. That badass deserved his own movie. If you like action and aren't turned off by subtitles, give this one a go. I doubt you'll regret it.
