Drag Me to Hell
PG-13
Co Writer/Director Sam Raimi returns to the horror genra after a 10 year abscense. Drag Me To Hell centers on gypsie curses and how 1 bank teller crosses a path with a old woman that puts the curse on her after denying her house. The overall plotline may sound lame, but this is from the same guy who brought movie goers the Evil Dead Trilogy. Knowing that right there assures that this film would be good and it honestly was.
Trick 'r Treat
R
Michael Dougherty(Co Writer of Superman Returns and Xmen 2) brings this film as his directorial debut and one of the best horror films I've seen this year.Trick r Treat tells 4 stories that all interwine throughout the hour and 23 minute runtime this film has, and does it well. Throughout the 4 stories, you got a serial killer,a schoolbus massacre,a werewolf and a vampire who stalks his victims through a halloween parade.
Not only was this film cleverly written but it was also pretty well directed. You've got actor's like Brian Cox,Dylan Baker and Anna Paquin.Other actor's I've spotted on tv shows also made small appearences as well and made the overall film entertaining much more.It was very unfortunate that this film had to see a direct to DVD release because the overall production quality of this film was a hollywood production more or less.
If you want to see a good halloween horror film this month then this is the film for you to see. It was well written, directed and produced. The cast was well chosen and brought alot to their roles as well. The horror elements were there and overall entertainment value was extremely high. If you want a good horror viewing experience then this is the movie to see.

Aliens
R
Sequels rarely perform well with critics due to lack of a powerful storyline, but James Cameron changed that in 1986 with his second directed film. Aliens continues the story of Ripley 57 years after the events of Alien. After being picked up by a salvage crew and returned to a hospital, Ripley slowly learns that the nightmare haven't ended. Being forced to return to the same planet where it all began with the Colonial Marine Corp, Ripley soon discovers that the horror hasn't ended.
