This was much better than I thought it would be. I was expecting a teen-mama romantic comedy where the baby-daddy steps up and actually stays with the girl. I was happily surprised to find it wasn't like that. I especially enjoyed the quasi-twist with the couple wanting to adopt Juno's baby. Very well done.
I was never a fan of the books, but I like the movie. While Nancy's character was still just this side of annoyingly perfect, her social awkwardness with her peers is the one thing that made her not annoyingly perfect and gave her a more human edge. And that allowed me to enjoy the film in a way that, I suspect, I wouldn't have enjoyed the books (had I ever had the slightest inclination to read them).
I haven't read the book and honestly had no interest in seeing the movie, but my mom coerced me into watching and I loved it. I'm a sucker for movies and documentaries involving the Holy Grail...
Despite what I've heard will be left out of the film, I really can't wait to see it. Honestly, as long as they have the Harry/Ginny kiss as it was in the books (or at least similar to the way it was in the books), I'll be happy.
