Decent if not perfect adaptation of the best musical of the 90s. Superb performances from the entire cast, with Jesse L Martin and newcomer Traci Thoms really shining. Speaking as a full fledged RentHead, Recommended for fans of the Broadway show as well as novices to the show.
The best of the HP movies to this point in the book series - outstanding acting by all three leads; David Thewilis and Gary Oldman are welcome additions to the HP pantheon.
An ok if overly melodramatic look at the true story of the Norway IA Tigers and their fight to continue a 19 year tradition of baseball championships. Excellent family film!
Current resident of the #1 spot on my Personal Pantheon all time favorites list. Incredible story, exceptional cinematography, WOW!!! Story is mesmerizing, and the cast is terrific. Yimou's use of color and water in this movie is absolutely stunning. Donnie Yen ROCKS!
Discovered this little gem in September thanks to a tip from entertainment writer Larry Richman. Absolutely one of my favorite movies this year, and probably of all time! A major contender for 2007 Poppies and easily will end up on my first revised Pantheon list next year. An absolute tour-de-force performance from young Anton Yelchin- FANTASTIC!
A great start to the trilogy - not bogged down by too much story and not enough action as is X2. Love the chemistry between Jackman and Marsden. Ahhh....Famke.....
Some decent action but way way waaaaay too talky for me. X3 is leaps and bounds a better movie than this one, though the character development here is sound and strong.
The best of the three X movies so far; you can disagree with me all you want, but I prefer Ratner's action to Singer's endless snorefest X-2 any day...
Absolutely one of the best animated films ever! I was unexpectedly deeply affected by the ending to the point of tears. A top contender for 2007 Poppies and one of the best films of the year - and easily an addition to my Personal Pantheon list...and this coming from someone who was reluctant to see it to begin with...
Absolutely mesmerizing tale told entirely through Beatles music. Reminisent of "Hair", but still it's own original idea. Music is awesome, and i'm not the biggest Beatles fan in the world. Jim Sturgess and Joe Anderson are AWESOME! Definitely a contender for the 2007 Poppies!
Top notch popcorn movie, easily the best of this past summers big blockbusters. Shia LeBeouf is fantastic - wish 2007 #1 PNR Rising Star John Robinson had a bigger part, but he steals the scenes he's in
