I <3 this movie! It gets half a star taken away for the swears. Ok, I just saw the super-secret alternate ending. It was quite dark, and although I like everyone living happily ever after, the alt ending tied up the morality issues much better. Seymour gets "punnished" for his crimes and he more or less becomes one of those "repentent villians that die just as they realise thier wrongdoing". Except he dosen't save the day. I think that Audry's death was great as the kind of overdramatic almost ritualistic thing, but I think Seymour's death went a little too far. I think the plant should have just eaten him and had him screming rather than all the dramatic musical hoo-pla that went on. I liked the final number (though unfinished). Fantastic miniatures, and a great throwback to '50s/60s horror flicks. I would like to see a finished second version sometime, but its not looking good. I think the second ending makes a better, tighter movie, but I (like the rest of the audience) do NOT want Audry and Seymour to die, and however tacked-on it feels, I like them getting married and being happy.
