The Usual Suspects (1995,  R)
The Usual Suspects
This is one of the best modern classics of our times. The brilliance of this movie is the very well executed multi-layered storytelling and all the tiny nuances hidden throughout the movie that you don't even pickup on until you rewatch it a couple times.....im still finding things and i've seen this about 6 or 7 times. Then theres the plot twist that truely defines what a "plot twist" is (somthing thats rarely done right in modern cinema) Brian Singer's direction gets the credit for this one because his use of clips from previously established scenes really convinces you to think that each suspect could really be "Keyser Soze" so it takes you from one extreme to another till the film concludes. Then there's the cast who are all brilliant and define there characters so well expecially Gabriel Byrne,Benicio Del Toro and thee amazing Kevin Spacey who really drive the movie to the masterpiece status that it rightfully deserves.

The Patriot
Historical inaccuracy aside, this is a gripping epic drama that I will never get tired of. I did feel that Heath Ledgers character was not explored as much as it should have been and it made him kinda 1-dimensional, but other than that there were some great performances by Mel Gibsons aswell as Chris Cooper,Jay Arlen Jones and Rene Auberjonois, but the overall stand out performance goes to Jason Isaacs as Col. Tavington (based on real life Lt. Colonel Banastre Tarleton) as possibly one of the cruelest most brutal characters i've seen in a long time.

This movie is so much more than just Christina Ricci running around half naked as the promos show. Its an amazing character study that is both heartfelt and inspiring between a damaged girl (Ricci) and a lonely down on his luck farmer (Jackson) who tries to save her. Both actors have amazing onscreen chemistry and Ricci's perfomance is very strong but the standout performance goes to Samuel L. Jackson's portrayal of Lazarus who steals the show.

OMG, I can't believe i've gone all those years without seeing this movie. I recently just happened to come across this film while flipping through the premium channels and im so glad I did, the direction/writing and acting (expecially by Kevin Spacey who officially now scares the hell out of me) were all superb and the story Holy Hell! that was some twisted stuff that somehow managed to be far more terrifying than any gory horror movie i've ever seen. I think it has to do with the whole reality of the plot, I mean this could very well happen given some of the twisted religious fanatics out there and I think that makes it far more scary than any gory horror movie out there.

Such a poignant well-written observation of two very different Muslim siblings living in England after 9/11 and the prejudices they face both in an outside of the Muslim community. Told in 2-sections we see the same struggle from both points of view and the impact that their decisions have one each other. Both leads are so strong and sympathetic in their very multi-layered roles, that it captivates you and makes you so invested with their characters.

I haven't seen a movie this good in a long time. Everything about it from start to finish was purely captivating and a total wild ride. I also love the reality of Nolan's adaptations, how seriously and realistically he approaches them, turning characters that used to be total "cheese" into the most sincere deeply flawed human beings with depths that reach far beyond your average "superhero" movie and into the mainstream as they speak to all of us instead of just a 'select' comic-book reading group. Christian Bale was strong as usual but his poor character didn't have a chance in this one to stand out, due to the wildly enigmatic scene stealers that were 'The Joker' played by the late Ledger, and 'Harvey Dent' played by Eckhart, these two characters were so defined and complex in such completely separate ways that they drove this film from a great action film (like its previous installment Batman Begins) to a PURE MASTERPIECE of unrivaled filmmaking for this genre that will be extremely difficult to top, even by Nolan himself.

Schindler's List
There are no words to describe how Powerful this film is that would do it justice. All that I will say is 'thank you' to Mr. Spielberg for thoughtfully honering a man whose actions truely changed (and saved) peoples lives.

In Bruges (2008,  R)
In Bruges
This film is amazing. I can't tell you how many times i've watched it and can still crack up at its many dark, dark humor moments.

so when is this coming out?

it was an exellent show that didn't deserve to be canceled just because of showtime politics.Im glad that their bringing it back and im ecstatic that Henry ian Cusick is involved.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008,  PG)
344
Valkyrie (2008,  PG-13)
345
The Fall (2006,  R)
The Fall
This is 'visually' the most stunning movie you will ever see.
All locations in the film are authentic, no CGI backrounds or green-screens were used. Tarsem literally traveled around the world for 4 years filming this and it pays off in one of the most underated emotionally poignant films to date.

Death at a Funeral (2007,  R)
Death at a Funeral
One of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. Firefly's Alan Tudyk and Peter Dinklage were scene stealers in every scene.
356
Tropic Thunder (2008,  R)
Tropic Thunder
They really need to give Tom Cruise's character his own spinoff.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army (Hellboy 2)
Wow.....after seeing the first one I wasn't sure I would like the second, but my boyfriend had it on a couple days ago and it sucked me right in. Prince Nuada (I hope I spelled that right) is by far the coolest character I've seen in awhile, he was quite a scene stealer throughout the entire movie. Visually stunning, with great character development and a much better plot than the first makes this an extremely impressive film.
364
Mission Impossible 2 (2000,  PG-13)
365
Wanted (2008,  R)
366
Escape from New York (1981,  R)
367
Beverly Hills Chihuahua (2008,  PG)
Beverly Hills Chihuahua
This is a must see for anyone who has small "teacup-sized" dogs. Good fun little family film that even your pets will love (my Yorkie spent 75% of the time barking at the tv lol).
368
Pineapple Express (2008,  R)
Pineapple Express
This movie is what it is: A STONER MOVIE! and a great one at that. The subject of the movie (weed) really sets the tone of how the plotlines are handled (as if the director was just as high as the characters) Its lazy, messy, and quite funny how they basically stumble through the entire movie, but thats what adds to its retarded charm. James Franco was a scene stealer and his character was the 'heart and soul' of this movie. His quirky lovable character really drove the chemistry between him and Rogen's character. For stoners everywhere this organically written hilarious ride is not to be missed.
369
The Children of Huang Shi (2008,  R)

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas) (2008,  PG-13)
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas)
This film is AMAZING. Yes this account of the Holocaust seemed to be played by an all British cast (which isn't quite accurate lol) but it dosen't take away from the hard hitting emotional impact of seeing the events unfold through an innocent child's eyes. Where this film ultimately takes you in the end is emotionally GUT WRENCHING to say the least, but you won't soon forget its impact.

I really liked this one.
The outcome is an all to familiar one, but it still manages to captivate you with its atmosphere and its sincerely likeable main characters played by Patrick Wilson and Anne Hathaway.
380
Dead Ringers (1988,  R)
Dead Ringers
Sick and severely twisted, its David Cronenberg at his best.

This film does its job, in that you will feel just as depressed as Will Smith's character when you leave the theater.

Terminator Salvation (2009,  PG-13)
Terminator Salvation
This movie was made special by the unbelievably enigmatic Sam Worthington. Although his 'in and out' accent confused the hell out of me in certain places, it can be overlooked since his presence in the film totally gave Bale's a run for his money.

As much as I love Christian Bale, his last three blockbuster performances were completely outshined by his costars (Depp, Ledger and now Worthington) maybe his psychotic outbursts while filming were a detriment to his character in the film.
391
Inkheart (2009,  PG)
Inkheart
This book series holds a special place in my heart and I'm ecstatic they brought it to life (no pun intended) so vividly. Brendan Fraser as 'mo' was the only casting misstep I think the film took seeing how the rest of the casting was beyond perfect.

And Dustfinger......WOW! that was one of the finest 'book to screen' portrayals I've seen as of late. They really couldn't have found anybody better for the beloved role. This just confirms the fact that Paul Bettany is one of the underated actors in Hollywood.
