| Elizabeth - R |
There are so many reasons you should really watch the film :-
1.Cate Blanchett 2.The all-star studden cast 3.The costumes & the brilliant sets 4.The plot & the direction 5.Kelly mcdonald & Emily Mortimer(well now that's a personal criteria) Shekhar kapur did a wondeful job as the director, the film which I thought would be like any other periodic piece in the beginning, was very different from its fellow companions.Well written indeed & amidst the whole fascination, you almost transport into the sixteenth century! & What a performance by Blanchett....fantastic! There's everything you'll expect from a film to entertain you during its whole 2 hours. However if you research more into the lives of Queen Elizabeth & history, the events portrayed in the film, were grossly inaccurate, which one might seem offending, but keeping the facts aside & considering it more of a fictional epic film(which was a little hard to do at first) I dont think you'll be disappointed. So a definite recommendation,if you're a fan of epic/periodic pieces or Cate Blanchett (or even British Beauties). |

| Home Alone - PG |
From a 5-star rating it might appear that I'm a huge fan of the film & stuff, but you wouldnt believe me if I told you that I didnt even wish to buy the film in the first place!
But after watching it for the 1st time it became an instant favorite of mine & still whenever there's christmas I try to watch it. All of the actors in this film contributed effectively which hence made a great film.Initially watching Joe Pesci in Scorcese films didnt make me a fan of him,but honestly the team of Pesci & stern make you laugh so hard at times, you'd barely able to hold it ! ofcourse there's the magical touch by John williams to this film as well which results in a wonderful background score! The film also makes you realize how much you can miss your family if they're not around you & the church scene was really touching! now I'll remember every year, "If it's christmas, then it's Home Alone time! |

| Mostly Martha (Bella Martha) - PG |
The Hollywood version of the film was much entertaining & the characters in this film werent as colorful or exciting as its counterpart!
But Martina Gedeck was certainly the best part of the film,if not the recipes! |

| Blue - Unrated |
This film is the reason why I try to avoid Hindi films these days & hence miss any good one among the bad lots.
Absolutely exaggerated movie, terrible acting from the ones you'd expect something good(Sanjay Dutt,Akshay kumar). The director obviously thought that including high-fi mindblowing stunts will leave people wide mouthed & I think he might not be even aware what people are watching these days. some scenes were direct lifts from other movies like Broken Arrow & Hitch(& my response to the director is to just GTFO bollywood & dont make a film until you can make a good film) just flaunting Larra Dutta's body wouldnt make a film wonderful to watch & probably this is why people consider hindi films so bad. Neverthless Kylie minogue is always great to look at & probably her singing was the only time in the movie where I enjoyed. otherwise a total disaster......one of bollywood's worst movies! |

| Aa Dekhen Zara - Unrated |
I had no intentions to watch this film, since most of the films in bollywood these days are directly lifted from other films.
But watching it was quite entertaining, the cast, the setting, the acting & the songs were all quite interesting, which collectively made it a great watch. Though involves time travelling, but with a little cautionary note attached to it. many might see this & say they knew what was going to happen,I certainly didnt expect the ending & enjoyed it! Neil Nitin Mukesh once again proved his skills & I consider him definitely better than his contemporaries Ranbeer Kapoor or Imran khan...now I'm waiting to watch his 2 other films that I had missed New York & Jail. Rahul Dev is also greatly cast as the main villain for this film,in fact he's started to become a favourite of mine after watching many of his excellent portrayals. well I Cant clearly say if I'd recommend it to anyone, but if you'll watch it,I dont think you'll be wasting your time! |

| Ghajini - Unrated |
So two of my friends enjoyed It & one became a great admirer of the so-called "Ghajini" look, What do I have to say?
It's still the uncredited unofficial Hindi remake of memento......yes in Bollywood, you'll see many changes to the original concept...with lots of(as one certain reviewer had put it) ridiculous song & dance sequences! Obvoiusly Aamir khan has transformed himself into the character with lots of muscles, but I would have been happy if the film-makers put a little brain into the story as well! for someone who hasnt seen many hindi(or rather south Indian films),it might feel different to watch...but for someone like me it was just another hindi film with heavy inspirations from its South Indian counter part. I believe Asin did justice to her part, nothing wrong with Aamir's acting either.....but no matter how hard I try the impression it left upon me is pale! The choreography, the acttion sequences, the dialougues all seemed too much inspired from south Indian films which I dont find intersting(rather exaggerated) The major drawback of this film was the antagonist,I believe if it had been played by someone more intimidating then it could have made a difference. |

| LOC: Kargil (Line of Control: Kargil) - Unrated |
If you watched Gone with the wind & thought it was the longest film you'd ever seen think again!
After Border J.P. Dutta presented another war film to the audience....although this movie was so long that almost everyone told me i'd be asleep in the first hour. Nearly four hours long the movie depicts the Indo-Pak war at kargil. It features almost every famous actor in the cinema industry in a role major or supporting. speaking about the detail with which the movie progressed...I'd say its far better than Black hawk down...but there are moments in the film where you feel bored & watching a movie this long is pretty difficult! once again a word of appraisal to all the actors who were filmed on the dangerous location of Kargil & To Mr.Dutta who made a fabolous effort to make such a great film.Genius! |

| Dus Kahaniyaan - Unrated |
I had initially rated it higher but after a rewatch I decided it wasnt worth all that.
Ten stories from six directors each around ten minutes or so. some stories like Gubbare, pooranmasi,Zahir, strangers in the night & rice plate were good while the rest were too ridiculous. overall a good composition...who doesnt want to watch a good story, well here they give you 10! |

| Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge - G |
watched this film with my family sometime back & well even though I'm not much into romantic films this movie was superb!
The most popular film from YRF till date & if you watch it you'll know why. Keeping in tradition with its romantic films Chopra indeed made a legend of a movie & as listed among one of the Indian films that you should see. If you really want to get a taste of Bollywood Watch it! |

| Chak De! India - Unrated |
Patriotic...yes with its own entertainment dose.
shahrukh takes a break from his regular romantic-image to portray the character as the coach of the Indian women's hockey team. I liked the film because of its picturisation, some good acting & ofcourse the score. The film is noted to have re-invented the interest of Indian audience in hockey....so indeed will have to say director Shimit Amin has succeded in his goal! |

You cant expect anything better from Priyadarshan.
same old cast repeated again & again & the story feels like "oh I've seen it before". although a bit different in his string of comedies & despite having its LOL moments......I'm really tired of watching his same old humour ....I'd really like Priyadarshan to make more films like virasat or anything apart from a comedy please! But I'll always remember the film as it was one of the rarest occasions when I went to a cinema hall to watch a film! |
