Boy A - R I got mixed feelings about this film!

While the picturisation of the story seemed pretty realistic..but I seriously wished to see any actor other than Andrew Garfield to play the role.

Not that I've seen any of his films or anything, but the depiction his character who's always wary about his past & tries to be a new person, seemed a little detached from himself(?)

however there are parts when the look on his face is unmistakable, they force you through what he's going as well.

Good direction...but wish they had chosen a different actor in the lead.

Neverthless a good supporting role by Peter Mullen & watch it ifyou enjoy such movies challenging your ethics.

London to Brighton - R In my opinion it's probably one of the best british films that I've seen!

The acting was superb which helped to carry off the entire 80-85 minutes without a slight rest!

pretty intense & also a bit of harsh reality in my opinion...but that's what the movie wanted to portray right?

Georgia groome also reminded me of jodie foster in taxi driver.

After I finished watching it I asked myself many questions.

Was the ending proper? Was the judgement pased by the gangster's son correct? Which of the characters I'd support? & many such conflicting questions that challenge the morals.....in some Hindi films I've seen it happening & believe it or not even in news you'd hear about things like this.

But indeed a great movie packed with better perfomances......& yes as you'd expect from British films generally it is pretty strong in aspects of language...but all that made the film seem real!

I'd like to recommend this film to anyone who enjoys movies which combine these kind of crime-elments with social realism!

Dead Man's Shoes - Unrated I'd heard great words about works of shane Meadows & Paddy Considine from a friend, who's a big fan of both & WHAT A FILM IT WAS!

Initially I thought it to be a slasher film or more of a revenge film. But it was really a powerful film that left me without words as the movie ended.

Paddy Considine delievers a performance which seemed scarily realistic & during the flashbacks the abusive members torturing Tony was really disturbing.

Really a good film to watch with superb performances & excellent direction.....kudos to Shane Meadows. Now I'm eager to see This is England!

& just forgot to mention how good the background score was...great soundtrack!

Jaws - PG This is the reason why movies from 70s & 80s remain masterpieces....the chills they give you,the terror they cause could never be created by any film of recent times.

kudos to Spielberg for creating the elemnt of fear without showing the shark for most parts of the film & when it unleashes its power well "you're gonna need a bigger boat"

A classic combo of Scheider & Dreyfuss(even if I havent seen much films of either actor) & contrary to many people who enjoyed Robert shaw's character ,his character really pissed me off...but may be again it's how good you can play the character!

& finally a word for the man who made Jaws so notorious & reputed!

JOHN WILLIAMS IS A LEGEND!

Ben-Hur - G Just when I thought no movie could ever be compared to Gladiator.....

My first thought before watching this film was how I'm going to survive for the whole 210 minutes & trust me never felt bored by any single moment of it!

From the very beginning(which depicts the birth of Jesus christ) to the very end of the film, the movie was so brilliant!

For a movie of its time & even today I'll always regard it as perhaps the best movie ever made.

watching the film made me a big fan of charlton heston(& the very beautiful Cathy O'Donnell) ...his depiction of the titular character Judah Ben-Hur was excellent.Stephen boyd also served as a perfect friend-turned-enemy of Ben-hur.

also some good supporting characters provided by Jack hawkins,Hugh Griffith & Haya Harareet

The boat scene & the chariot scene were particularly very masterfully directed & no matter how much I write about it,it wouldn't be enough!

What a movie!......I'm so glad I watched this film in my lifetime.....BRAVO William Wyler for making such an epic

If you havent seen it yet...well make sure you watch it just once in your life!
