Almost Famous
DIRECTED BY: Cameron Crowe
STARRING: Patrick Fugit, Kate Hudson, Billy Crudup, Jason Lee, Frances McDormand, Zooey Deschanel, Anna Paquin, Philip Seyour Hoffman

Synopsis

Writer and director Cameron Crowe's experiences as a teenage rock journalist -- he was a regular contributor to Rolling Stone while still in high school -- inspired this coming-of-age story about a 15-year-old boy hitting the road with an up-and-coming rock band in the early 1970s. Elaine Miller (Frances McDormand) strict single parent whose distrust of rock music has helped to drive a wedge between herself and her two children, Anita (Zooey Deschanel) and William (Patrick Fugit). Anita rebels by dropping out of school and becoming a stewardess, but William makes something of his love of rock & roll by writing album reviewsfor a local underground newspaper. Williamfor a local underground newspaper. William'swork attracts the attention of Lester Bangs (Philip Seymour Hoffman), editor of renegade rock magazine Creem, who takes William under his wing and gives him his first professional writing assignment -- covering a Black Sabbath concert. While William is unable to score an interview with the headliners, the opening act, Stillwater, are more than happy to chat with a reporter, even if he's still too young to drive, and William's piece on the group in Creem gains him a new admirer, an editor at Rolling Stone offers William an assignment for a 3,000-word cover story on Stillwater, and over the objections of his mother , and after some stern advice from Bangs, Williams joins Stillwater on tour, where he becomes friendly with guitaristRussell Hammond (Billy Crudup) and singer Jeff Bebe (Jason Lee). William also becomes enamored of Penny Lane (Kate Hudson), a Band Aid traveling with the band who is no older than William, but is deeply involved with Russell. Lester Bangs and Ben Fong-Torres, incidentally, were real-life rock writers Crowe worked with closely during his days as a journalist.

Romeo + Juliet (1996,  PG-13)
Romeo + Juliet
Classic story of Romeo and Juliet, set in a modern-day city of Verona Beach. The Montagues and Capulets are two feuding families, whose children meet and fall in love. They have to hide their love from the world because they know that their parents will not allow them to be together. There are obstacles on the way, like Juliet's cousin, Tybalt, and Romeo's friend Mercutio, and many fights. But although it is set in modern times, it is still the same timeless story of the "star crossed lovers".

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

a new evil awakens....

(also a disaster movie....)

SYPNOSIS

The blockbuster global Mummy franchise takes a spellbinding turn as the action shifts to Asia for the next chapter in the adventure series, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Brendan Fraser returns as explorer Rick O?Connell to combat the resurrected Han Emperor (Jet Li) in an epic that races from the catacombs of ancient China high into the frigid Himalayas. Rick is joined in this all-new adventure by son Alex (newcomer Luke Ford), wife Evelyn (Maria Bello) and her brother, Jonathan (John Hannah). And this time, the O?Connells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse who threatens to plunge the world into his merciless, unending service.

Doomed by a double-crossing sorceress (Michelle Yeoh) to spend eternity in suspended animation, China?s ruthless Dragon Emperor and his 10,000 warriors have laid forgotten for eons, entombed in clay as a vast, silent terra cotta army. But when dashing adventurer Alex O?Connell is tricked into awakening the ruler from eternal slumber, the reckless young archaeologist must seek the help of the only people who know more than he does about taking down the undead: his parents.

As the monarch roars back to life, our heroes find his quest for world domination has only intensified over the millennia. Striding the Far East with unimaginable supernatural powers, the Emperor Mummy will rouse his legion as an unstoppable, otherworldly force?unless the O?Connells can stop him first. Now, in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, the trademark thrills and visually spectacular action of the Mummy series will be redefined for a new generation.

MY REVIEW

OKAY so lets make things clear....the 1st one and the 2nd one was super great but now, not really. there isn't much chemistry going on between Maria Bello and Brendan Fraser.Maria Bello is a year older than Brendan(i know just little age difference)but still can't see the chemistry going on!ya sure Maria Bello is a great actor....but Rachel Weisz is much better.it wouldn't be the same like any other.so if you wanna see this movie dont go running inside the movie house like you did before!!te other thing is that not that great fighting scene!but the yeti part was super cool....and Jet Li great action star but why'd he take the job if he is like ya sure Jet Li 1st part then like 5 minutes he becomes this ugly creature!!!and their son Alex o' connel looks as old as his parents!!!what the F*uck!!well still it was a pretty nice movie.....

Twilight (2008,  PG-13)
Twilight
SYPNOSIS

TWILIGHT is an action-packed, modern day love story between a vampire and a human. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school.  When her mother remarries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn?t expect much of anything to change.  Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she?s ever met.  Intelligent and witty, he sees straight into her soul.  Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance.  Edward can run faster than a mountain lion, he can stop a moving car with his bare hands ? and he hasn?t aged since 1918.  Like all vampires, he?s immortal.   But he doesn?t have fangs, and he doesn?t drink human blood; Edward and his family are unique among vampires in their lifestyle choice. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for ? a soul mate.  But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy.  But what will Edward & Bella do when James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre), the Cullens? mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for her?

ABOUT TWILIGHT: Based on the current #1 New York Times Bestselling series (30 weeks and counting) with over 5.5 million books in print by Stephenie Meyer, TWILIGHT is a cultural phenomenon, with a dedicated fanbase that eagerly awaits this movie.  There are over 100 fan sites devoted to Twilight, and it has been chosen as the New York Times  Editor?s Choice, a Publishers Weekly Best Book of the Year, Amazon?s ?Best Book of the Decade? So Far?, Teen People?s ?Hot List? Pick, The American Library Association?s ?Top Ten Best Book for Young Adults? and ?Top Ten Books for Reluctant Readers? and has been translated into 20 languages.   Critically acclaimed director Catherine Hardwicke brings to life this modern, visual, and visceral Romeo & Juliet story of the ultimate forbidden love affair - between vampire and mortal.

WARNING:THIS IS A SPOILER!

REVIEW

This movie was great. But, the book is always better than the movie.Edward and bella are just so great together!Emmett and Rosalie, great couple.Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart really justified the part of Eward and Bella.Jacob, not really.I laughed so hard when it was already after the baseball scene and Edward climbed in the car there was this girl that screamed!Baseball scene was awesome.I loved it when Edward told Bella he could read minds"I can read other's mind apart from yours....money..sexx...money...sex..CAT!"Edward, I won't say beautiful, but really did the part well.Definately great to watch!Recommended to all of you!LOVE IT!
