Max Payne Max Payne PG-13
Let's start from "OH MY F**KING GOD!", It was damn! AWESOME. To the PAIN of PAYNE: A deffinately emotionally driven character and story. As an audience, I had to swallow back a tear in certain bits. Usually to do with when we're seeing the flashbacks of the murder and the final scene. Constantly through the movie we're reminded with the pain Max is going through, the loss, the breakdown, this cold case which will forever haunt him, atleast until he can bring justice. He will go to the ends of the Earth to bring that same pain upon those who are responsibile, to seek justice, revenge, redemption, to relieve himself & his family. The corruptness and the brutality of that murder - is sickening and anyone should be able to feel that they could react the same way -- To want to use your fist, to use your every might in your body, capable and uncapable, to get the information you want, to seek the blood of those who did it -even though it sounds inhumane and quite possibly is.. It's our emotions and we use them in both unwise and wise ways but f**k them all. They damn deserve what's coming to them! right? Anyway, Max Payne is like a demolition man at a point in the movie but that is not the case throughout; you also see his weaker side, his toughness breaking down for a free fall to seek the arms of his "angels". To just die and go to that place. That place of light. Whether it's Heaven ..or whether it's not. It is where he would rather be.. but then.... a soft and particularly beautiful voice resonances...."Not yet Max" (which is actually my favourite line in the movie) reachs out to him and lifts him up again, raising him from the floor and back to his feet, he's reloaded, while wounded, bleeding and limping; he's still up for this, that resonance keeps him going- going for the MAX... HE WILL finish this "job". And so through the PAIN stands Max PAYNE. And who better to play our HERO than Mark, He's a fab-fab-fabulous actor. Let no one tell him differently. CAST: Credit to all the cast. Great work by them all, especially Mark and Beau Bridges I'd have to say. VISUAL: Just beautiful, absolutely, amazing! enough said. It's 'Moore' not 'Less'. Hehe. CGI: Those demons were a strong element in the film and that was great! Seriously that scene with the roof coming apart -- DAMN TOO COOL! Also the snow, the background showing NY and the iced up water... They're crying out LOVE ME and I do love you scenery! SEQUEL: It can live with or WITHOUT a second but (after the credits it introduces the opportunity) to see Mark raise his voice and convey those emotions out through his eyes again would be "boom baby" to me (meaning a great idea). Not to mention the SHOT GUN action! ENDING:Just fantastic, one of the best endings. It can make you cry and it holds that bright light mentioned earlier. You just want to scream out to him and say "You did it Max! You did it" you know, or atleast I did. A deffinate must see, unless you want a shoot-em-up - I wouldn't recommend. It's just not like that. It's way more meaningful! Even my brother said it was an awesome movie, a mad movie - probably Mark Wahlberg's best. That's high praise from a Max Payne fan/game player. Even my mother liked it, we all enjoyed it (my family). We all got our laughs, and our "ooo"s "aaar"s, "Holy cow"s. In the end we're all giving 'Max Payne' back up vocals with a bang. And man when the title came up at the end "MAX PAYNE" I seriously cheered out loud going "WOOO!!!" ;) DVD here I come!
The Happening The Happening R
The STYLE put into this movie is SO unique. I've never seen such a movie like this, it's nice to see different things and for it to be actually alot more natural than most movies. Most movies have these catchy lines, sex scenes (which we don't actually need to see unless it's based on it) or special effects that make it "Cool" but this movie is all done by "NATURAL" movement, it's like taking a step back and using a pencil/pen again instead of the computer.

The dialogue MAY not be WHAT WE THINK is movie material and the characters don't make any "hollywood" made actions. The thing is it's REALISTIC. The people are not witty or the opposite hysterical during these times. They're confused, emotional and well Night tried to do a more relaxing thriller. One you could enjoy because it's not full of ONE style (horror).. It's got moments of joy, moments of pure concern and frightfulness, moments that vary like day to day life. BUT People want to have TWISTS and things that aren't REAL or things that they won't have to THINK about because they just want ENTERTAINMENT but I like movies with alot of thought, ones that will make ME do something too.

By the end of the movie... You find that you're still entertained while it's got this black screen up. The movie leaves you (well if you're like me) with all these questions THAT YOU CAN answer. Each day after you've seent he movie you'll find better and better things to say about it. I saw this movie two weeks ago and I still think about it now and then. It's JUST one of those movies that really have intrigued me. It involved me in it's conclusion, I was part of the movie because I enjoyed it - to find bits and pieces of the movie and put it all together like a jigsaw puzzle and work out that it's A REALLY good film and that it just needs a MIND ready to explore it's meaning. It's a pity not many people had this ability well.. actually it's all based on taste. This movie didn't satisfy your taste buds but maybe it would if you gave it a chance.
& just for the sake of it. Mark Wahlberg is an excellent actor who deserves his damn Academy Award! :P
