An intense movie by the great Scorsese. After a near death experience, Scorsese came into this movie expecting it to be his last. So after putting everything into it, he has made one of the greatest movies ever. About middleweight boxer Jake LaMotta, he not only makes a boxing movie, he portrays how obsession and having a violent job such as boxing can ruin a man. A haunting movie, you can't help but love and hate Jake, thanks to De Niro's best performance. A masterpiece.
