Schindler's List (1993,  R)
Schindler's List 5.0 Stars
By far Spielberg's finest work.
Fiennes as evil Amon Goeth, Neeson as Oskar Schindler and Kingsley as Itzhak Stern gave unparalleled performances. The last scene is the most touching i've ever seen in movies, and the switch from black and white to colors is the essence of the film. It will definitely leave a mark in me forever.
The main theme by Williams portrays the story just perfectly, no words needed.
"Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire"

The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring 5.0 Stars
There can't be a Trilogy as perfect as the mighty Lord of the Rings.
There are just no flaws, with the forego credit going to Howard Shore for the beautiful imaginary soundtrack.
For my eyes, it's a very rare diamond that you can't walk up on everyday.

The Dark Knight 5.0 Stars
No words, no oscars, and neither the full five stars can describe the masterpiece of Christopher Nolan.
That's as perfect as a film can get. Ledger steals the picture with the best performance i've ever seen from an actor on screen.
This one goes really beyond all expectations one can put. The acting is brilliant, and so is the direction, and the soundtrack, and the screenplay, and the plot....
There's absolutely no way to make a better film, so Nolan should really blame himself and start thinking very hard about the inevitable sequel.

Extremely good piece of work from Martin Scorcese.
De Niro, Liotta and especially Pesci were born to play the roles they've been given.
Still, it wasn't enough to beat "Dances with Wolves" for the best picture in 1990.

Without a doubt the best movie we've had in 2007.
The lack of music score was intended to mount the suspense, and it succeeded tremendously.
It's violent, bloody, gruesome, original, thrilling, smart and poetic.

Joyeux Noël (Merry Christmas) 5.0 Stars
Intense, mesmerizing and totally moving.
This wonderful picture is about the french, german, and scottish soldiers uniting on the battlefield to celebrate christmas eve on the 24th of December, 1914. As strange and unbelievable as it seems, this actually happened and the film is based on a true story.
The cast is of european brilliance, and the soundtrack is just out of this world.
You'd definitely not want to miss that one.

The music is the most important factor in most disney animations. It indeed played a crucial role in the lion king, packing up both oscars for best score (Hans Zimmer) and best original song "can you feel the love tonight" by the great Elton John. The circle of life also reigned supreme.
Even the most coldbloodhearted bastard would feel sadness in Mufasa's death scene.

In "Platoon", Oliver Stone gets us to see the soldiers in Vietnam. Here, the work was about the effects the war could have on a marine afterwards.
The movie tells the true story of Sergeant Marine Ron Kovic, badly wounded thus handicapped in the war, and the struggle to regain a normal life afterwards, turning his back on the war and the government.
There's no better than Stone to convince in a political view in a movie, think "JFK" for example.
Cruise puts on a distinguinshed performance as well.
