Fantastic! Wall-E is a instant classic character. The film is let down a bit by the human plot that causes some slow moments, but the robots are fantastic. And you will laugh HARD.

The short before the movie is fantastic too.

This was a surprisingly good thriller, with good performances by the cast. For a fairly simplistic movie, it held my interest all the way through. Might be a touch graphic in places for some people, but I actually think the gore was done "tastefully" (if you can say such a thing about gore), in that it wasn't overdone, but rather appropriate for the moment - it conveyed the horror of the situation. Well worth a watch.

Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay
    3.5 Stars by Mike
Sequels sure have a tendency to suck, but surprisingly enough, this one was (for the most part) just as good as the original. Harold and Kumar are still as fun of a duo as ever, providing some of the most enjoyable moments in comedy that I've seen in recent memory. In fact, if you ask me, I'd say this is the best addition to the genre since "Superbad".

There weren't all that many laugh-out-loud moments, but what it lacked joke-wise, it surely made up for by being incredibly entertaining and gratifying. So when all is said and done, I dub this as the best comedy of 2008 thus far, pushing abominations like "Meet the Spartans" and "Superhero Movie" even further into the Hall of Shame.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
    4.0 Stars by Mike
A significant improvement compared to The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. The action in this one was better and more frequent, with little room to spare for catching your breath. And with a darker and more mature story as its basis, the realm of Narnia have suddenly begun to lean more and more towards how all things fantasy ought to be: brilliant, engaging and visually stunning.

What still keeps its from being in league with movies like Lord of the Rings, however, is the obvious lack of depth and spirit, as well as the fact that I still don't find the main characters fully believable as action heroes. I had a great time watching it nonetheless though, and it's without doubt one of the best movies of the year, that is just as sure to end up in my dvd-collection.

It's always nice to see people keeping the B-horror movie alive... And it doesn't get much more "B" than this. With really bad acting, bogus plot, and all the special effects wizardry of "Scare Tactics", this one will probably achieve cult status amongst B-horror afficiendos...
If you like your B-grade horror's, you might get a laugh out of this... Otherwise, steer clear...

The Other Boleyn Girl The Other Boleyn Girl

Historical dramas have always been my cup of tea, so it wasn't really a major surprise that I ended up liking this. The story, about two sisters rivaling for the love of King Henry VIII, was as interesting as it was well-acted, despite being a bit on the slow side.

Additionally, I can't say I had anything against seeing Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johanssen in one and the same film. Because these girls aren't just two knockouts, but can actually act as well and do so with a sense of dignity and feeling for their material.

All things taken into account, this proved to be one of the best movies of the year, and one I'd gladly recommend to other fans of the genre.
