This movie was extremely disappointing. First, the story is 'based on true' events' but has so many holes in the story, I could have driven a convoy through it. Also, 'suspension of disbelief' & 'dramatic license' only forgive so much. This movie was supposed to take place in 1987 & I did not feel the 80's vibe at all. I didn't care about the characters. I didn't believe the reactions they had to events that were happening. It was a story with great potential but I feel the filmmakers just made a mess of the whole thing.
Mesmerizing. This short movie was able to create the same creepy feeling that reading Lovecraft's writings could. Quite possibly the first honest interpretation of Lovecraft's work on film to date.
Finally finished watching this last night after having it from Netflix for a month. I really wanted to like this more than I did. The beginning seemed very disjointed with holes in the story that I just couldn't suspend. There were some real genuine scares. Excellent bloody death scenes. But for the final film of a trilogy that started with "Suspiria", I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed.
