If the entire movie had no dialogue I still would have rated it this high on the basis of the visuals. Pandora is an incredibly realistic and beautiful planet. Infact, the only thing that didn't look real were the Na'vi, in the sense that you could tell they were digitally created. The other fictional creatures of Pandora looked amazing. Absolutely breathtaking, the occasional cheesy line is forgiven
This will surely create many conflicting opinions. It is not a movie for children at all, which is strange as it is based on a hugely popular childrens book. My friend hated it, and a few cinema goers left before the end. I adored the visuals but found it a little too depressing at times. The fun elements didn't seem to last long. The character Max clearly has some problems, maybe he has ADD? Very dark in places, hence why it is NOT for children. Overall it was a great experience for me. Not my favourite of the year but it got to me enough to almost make me cry which I wasn't expecting
Not half bad you know. It's hard to believe the director of the disturbing Wolf Creek went on to make this. It's not scary but it's entertaining, and the creature effects are brilliant
I loved it. I'm not sure if it was intentional or if it was just me, but it seems that the other characters in the movie are more out of order with their actions and choice of words, not Kym. She is given a hard time and considering she's fresh out of rehab, she does a pretty good job of holding it together. A well made and acted family drama
If someone gave me $15,000 i'm pretty sure I could make something that was actually scary. I felt embarassed for the movie as most of the cinema were laughing at the 'scary' bits. This did not scare me in the slightest, didn't make me jump once. There was nothing original, it was boring, and all of the paranormal bits were covered in the trailer. This has already been granted a remake and a sequel, dear god! If you want a genuinely creepy movie set in a house watch The Strangers instead. There's nothing paranormal about it but it will get your heart racing more than this. Note to self: Never go and see another movie where audience reactions are filmed and edited into the trailer.
Not sure really. I like his music and I had tickets to his show, but this was just a cut and paste project clearly documenting the eventual demise of MJ. If you want to see a man on his last legs, messing up dance moves, and so out of breath that he can't finish sentences in his songs, then see it. The start with the dancers being interviewed was particularly infuriating, the contrived speeches and tears
A quirky animation with an often witty, hilarious, and touching script. It has Wes Anderson and Roald Dahl written all over it, two great kooks. Just brilliant!
I was expecting a lot more from this, seeing as it's described as one of the most influential psychological movies ever. I found it mostly boring, with occasional rewarding visuals of Venice
Oh dear... Well I used to think this was good in a "so bad it's good" way but having watched it again, it's just plain old BAD. Don't bother with this one
Lets just say i'm glad I was in good company, otherwise I would have been incredibly depressed. Full of the usual macho bullshit with no likeable characters and no scares
