The Hangover The Hangover R
After all the hype surrounding this film, I was a little disappointed(just a little). It's definately a "guy" film and one my girlfriend said she would have willingly missed. That being said, there's a lot of fun to be had with The Hangover. Four friends take off to Vegas for a bachelor party. Most of the movie is three of the friends trying to piece together the previous nights activities in an attempt to find the missing groom and get back in time for the wedding. Most people who see this film can easily relate to or have friends that fit each of the profiles portrayed here. You have the straight laced groom, the over confident, charming, yet kind of a dick best friend, the submissive and insecure friend, and finally the awkward, almost childlike stooge. Zach Galifianak is hilarious as the awkward soon to be brother in law Alan. In fact, in my opinion, he pretty much makes the movie. The rest of the cast were good, but the show stealing scenes all belonged to Alan. Anyways, The Hangover is fun and worth the watch if you're in the mood for a "What Happens in Vegas..." kind of film.
2012 2012 PG-13
Once again Roland Emmerich sets out to destroy the world as we know it. 2012 is kind of a mixed bag of emotions. On one hand we have some great performances surrounded by some of the most realistic, heartstopping visual effects thrown on the big screen. However, I use the word "thrown" intentionally because that's what Emmerich does. He throws these images at us in a volley of breathtaking "what if" destruction scenarios. Like his end of the world predecessors, The Day After Tomorrow, and Independance Day, Emmerich gives you one hell of a roller coaster ride, but an hour after the film, you realize that what you've just sat through really had no substance. 2012 is nothing more than popcorn and eye candy. Fortunately, I didn't expect anything more. That's not to say I didn't enjoy it, but if you're going to enjoy something like this, you have to really turn off the noodle and accept it for what it is.

BTILC is my all-time favorite movie! I've seen it well over 100 times and never get tired of it. Being a huge Carpenter fan, I was drawn to this fim from GO. The snappy dialogue and speedy pace keeps you glued to the screen from beginning to end. This is by far Carpenter's best.
The 'Burbs The 'Burbs PG
My favorite Tom Hanks movie and probably one of my top 3 favorite films ever. Its funny, odd and quirky. Bruce Dern is hilarious, rounding off a great cast. If you haven't seen this movie, you're missing out!!!
