"Im not in the business, I am the business" The greatest film ever made! Every single element in this film is perfect. The music, the cinematography, the direction, the perfromances, everything is working on a higher level. No other film encourages the viewer more to explore subtext, motivations and the meaning of every line. From Deckards alcoholic depression to Rachels sadness to the replicants desperation, every character's story begs you to explore it and sympathise with it. Bladerunner isnt for everyone its a mood piece that you need to emotionally connect with. Its like a great album, individual scenes working like songs. And lastly is Deckard a replicant? well thats what makes the film so good, its up to you to work it out WARNING! only watch the directors cut!!!!!!!
The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King PG-13
"Naked in the dark" The perfect end to a perfect trilogy, LOTR is arguably cinemas greatest moment. I could go on about Aragorn and Gandalf and the amazing action but im not going to. For me LOTR and ROTK is all about Frodo and Sam. From leaving the Shire to fighting in Osgiliath and finally to Mount Doom, Frodo and Sam's emotional journey is the heart of LOTR and what makes it so powerful. Only the most bitter and jaded individual is not moved to tears by Frodo on the side of Mount Doom trying to remember the shire and Sam saying "i may not be able to carry it for you, but i can carry you". Finally as Frodo leaves Middle Earth the smile he gives Sam encapsulates what makes LOTR rise above anything seen before and perhaps after
