2
Shi gan (Time) (2007,  Unrated)
Shi gan (Time)
Poetically brutal. Beautifully shaped metaphor of Shi gan add onto Kim Ki Duk's image of a director who knows how to share his ideas with the audience.

Shine
Wonderful film! So touching and meaningful. Geoffrey Rush is brilliant here.
9
The Shining (1980,  R)
The Shining
"REDRUM" My personal favorite out of Stanley Kubrick's movies. I have flashes of some breath-taking scenes whenever I think of it. I think The Shining can easily gain the title of the best psychological thriller ever made. '
10
The Motorcycle Diaries (Diarios de Motocicleta) (2004,  R)
The Motorcycle Diaries (Diarios de Motocicleta)
This film was so inspiring. Well made story about Che Guevara's road trip through Latin America that had great influence on his later life. Add amazing photography, music and good actors and you get a great film!

Strong film that leads to a heartache. At least in my case. Altogether quite powerful.
13
Doctor Zhivago (1965,  PG-13)
Doctor Zhivago
Epic and wonderful! There are some scenes that just stay in your head for years to come. The story, the acting, the music - everything makes this film a true classic.
14
Gone With the Wind (1939,  G)
Gone With the Wind
One of the rare films that is as good as the book if not better. A must see.
15
Nae meorisokui jiwoogae (A Moment to Remember) (2004,  Unrated)
Nae meorisokui jiwoogae (A Moment to Remember)
Excellent film. I expected a typical love story, but this was something more - tearing you apart by the end of the movie. Actors did a great job, making this film one of my favorite dramas.
16
Life Is Beautiful (La Vita č bella) (1998,  PG-13)
Life Is Beautiful (La Vita č bella)
Brilliant idea. Benigni bought me with this film. Life is beautiful, indeed.
17
One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975,  R)
One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest
So strong and emotional. Just the gallery of amazing and well-shaped characters was enough to put it into classics category. Jack Nicholson is great, once again.
18
Bad Education (La Mala educación) (2004,  NC-17)
Bad Education (La Mala educación)
My favorite out of Almodovar's films so far. Excellent!
19
Cabaret (1972,  PG)
Cabaret
Liza Minnelli is a shining here. But I always remember that scene with Nazi youth singing 'Tomorrow belong to me' - I get shivers every time!
20
Amadeus (1984,  R)
Amadeus
Amazing! I have no other words... and of course Mozart's Requiem perfectly fits - obviously. It made me cry, over and over again. That means a lot.
21
The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring (2001,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring
My favorite out of the whole trilogy. I think it does justice to the book - and we all know that doesn't happen often. When it came out I went absolutely crazy... fangirling for the first time in my life.
22
The Godfather, Part III (1990,  R)
The Godfather, Part III
The third part of The Godfather clearly is not the best, but for me the ending simply beats it all.
23
The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King (2003,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King
It was better then second, but still couldn't beat the first. I still love it.
24
The Matrix Reloaded (2003,  R)
The Matrix Reloaded
I still liked the first film more, but this one was very good too.
25
The Godfather (1972,  R)
The Godfather
There's not a lot to say here. Perfect beginning of a great saga.
26
The Matrix (1999,  R)
The Matrix
I was a huge fan when it was released. It's still one of my favorite films.
27
The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers (2002,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers
The weakest out of three films. It didn't spoil my opinion about the trilogy, though.
28
Frida (2002,  R)
Frida
A strong, passionate film about one of the most amazing female artists ever. Visually one of the most beautiful films I've ever watched. The cast is incredible, but Salma Hayek carries the movie - she impressed me with this role.
29
The King and the Clown (2005,  Unrated)
The King and the Clown
I watched this film soon after it was released, simply to see what the whole hassle was about (and because of Lee Junki, of course =)) and I was impressed. I didn't really expect that much. I think no review (and especially not the poor written plot up there) can describe just how good this film is.
30
Jesus Camp (2006,  PG-13)
Jesus Camp
Too scary not to be watched. I went out of the cinema and had to check if I truly watched a documentary. Talking about religious fanaticism/fundamentalism. Evangelical bible camp in Devil's Lake, North Dakota called Kids on Fire says enough itself.
31
Letters from Iwo Jima (2006,  R)
Letters from Iwo Jima
I was sucked into the story, it's a great film!
32
The Pianist (2002,  R)
The Pianist
I'm quite sick of films about WWII and I always watch those with a dose of skepticism, but The Pianist (along with Life is Beautiful) absolutely fascinated me. I immediately added him to my list of favorite films.
33
Shakespeare in Love (1998,  R)
Shakespeare in Love
I fell in love with this film when I first watched it. To me the story is just... enchanting in a way. I still love it.
34
Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961,  Unrated)
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Audrey Hepburn's best film! She's irresistible here, you have to love her! Music and the story are great too, I always return to Breakfast at Tiffany's.
35
Slumdog Millionaire (2008,  R)
Slumdog Millionaire
Absolutely brilliant!!! It says it all...
36
Hyeol-ui nu (Blood Rain) (2005,  Unrated)
Hyeol-ui nu (Blood Rain)
I absolutely loved it! An excellent mystery thriller with a good plot. The story develops well and it just keeps you tied to your seat.
37
May 18 (2007,  Unrated)
May 18
Emotional, but not pathetic, May 18 gives a nice picture of the terror that happened and makes the audience empathize with the victims of it. I liked it very much.
38
M (2007,  Unrated)
M
Beautiful!!! Amazing cinematography and music made the simple story so special and wonderfully told. This one goes to one of my favorites!
39
Cooking History (2009,  Unrated)
Cooking History
Absolutely loved it! Amazing realization of an interesting idea - the pace of the film is just right, the story draws you in and you can't help yourself - one moment you feel like crying and the next you can't stop laughing. Touching and real - I really want to watch it again!
40
Katalin Varga (2009,  Unrated)
Katalin Varga
New approach to rape and revenge topic - fresh and a bit terrifying - makes us wonder 'who are we to judge anyone?'. Simple, background sounds play the main role here and, together with interesting music that blends in so well, lead the story in such an amazing way - without them the film wouldn't be half as strong as it is. Emotional attack in a way - making you anticipate something all the time throughout the film.
41
We Live in Public (2009,  Unrated)
We Live in Public
'The more you get to know everyone, the more alone you become.'
Giving out our privacy for everybody to own - are we aware of the price we pay for living in public? A mesmerizing film - something every young person (especially the ones addicted to the internet) should see.
42
Young at Heart (Young@Heart) (2007,  PG)
Young at Heart (Young@Heart)
One of the most touching films I've seen in a very long time! It's filled with such energy, enthusiasm and youth. Truly inspiring!
