Knowing - PG-13 an American film without a happy ending. thumbs up for that. December 19, 2009

Che: Part One (The Argentine) - R did this need to be so long? after an hour of guerilla tactics in the jungle I kinda got it. the bit in the town was at least fighting in a varied backdrop.

this whole film made me feel che was just a puppet of Fidel's and not a great man in his own right. I imagine part two might flesh that out but I can't be arsed to sit through another two hours.

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra - PG-13 Big dumb action film. At least it went part way to create an origin story for Cobra. Again, something to watch when stuck on a plane for 20 hours. November 20, 2009

Weather Girl - PG-13 it's funny what you'll watch when you're on a plane. I was really only drawn to this because Ducky was in it. His role was no worth the effort. November 20, 2009

Disney's A Christmas Carol - PG Seeing this in 3D was more roller coaster ride than retelling of the Dicken's tale. Using some inventive re-imaginings, Zemekis and co manages to make your stomach churn as Scrooge goes flying down the roads of London and across it's rooftops.

I can only imagine how disappointing this would be in 2D.

The Invention of Lying - PG-13 when you've got a high concept comedy you better make sure you plug any plotholes. this didn't. in a world where you can't lie, how do you get away with calling someone a douchebag?

also according to this God is a lie as gervais' character invents the 'man in the sky'. did Jesus exist in this world?

enjoyable but too many questions.

Role Models - R humourous brain dead fun with a hilarious KISS themed 3rd act. October 31, 2009

Paul Blart: Mall Cop - PG not as bad as I thought and much better than the alternative - watching xfactor!

typical tale of underdog who overcomes the odds ( and plotholes) to save the day.

worth a free rental

Gran Torino - R cracking tale with Clint being Clint. finest ending you could ask for as well. October 18, 2009

Coraline - PG did not disappoint. the stop motion was stunning. it's also one of the best looking blu-rays I've seen. tempted to turn rental into purchase on this one. October 18, 2009

Moon - R blending parts of 2001 and blade runner into a completely original tale. taking the best parts of indie cinema and expanding on them. this is one of the best films I've seen this year. October 18, 2009

Revolutionary Road - R depressing tale of a stale suburban life and shattered dreams.

Mid life crisis in about two hours, but set against a 1950s backdrop.

The Damned United - R Great bio pic on the footballing legend. the Blu-Ray bonus features were pretty good too, but I don't know about the BD Live crap.

It's amazing how dirty the players were back in the 70s and how far we've come with things like pitch conditions, etc.

Australia - PG-13 not as bad as I'd thought it would be and actually quite engrossing for the three hours. there's some stuff that could have been cut though September 20, 2009
