The X-Files: I Want to Believe (The X Files 2) - PG-13 I read the reviews, and people told me but like the title i had to see it for myself because I wanted to believe.

This wasn't a bad movie, it was boring two hour episode of the TV show. There were a few plot leaps - like Scully not really having much to do with Mulder in one scene, then being in bed with him in another.

The whole mystique of the series - aliens, and the unexplained - really took a back seat in this flick to a rather pedantic tale that had a little too much to coincidence with Scully's stem cell research.

I would not recommend this to anyone, and I guess the series is dying on a dud.

It was nice to see Hank Moody and Lou Ashby in a film together, but I've preferred their pairing in Californication lately.

Benny & Joon - PG Quite an interesting juxtaposition between the straight laced, blue collar mechanic brother Benny and the free spirited artist Joon and how the clashing of their worlds is heightened by the arrival of Johnny Depp's Sam. March 11, 2009

Watchmen - R It's just as I imaged it could be. Never thought they'd get all twelve issues into anything short of a mini-series, but hat off to Zack, he's made a film I can't wait to watch again. March 11, 2009

Mallrats - R Jason Lee's debut sihining moment, years before Earl. Just goes to show what a load of slackers can achieve at the mall! February 27, 2009

Family Guy - Blue Harvest - Unrated short on time, funny as hell. Having the old perv as Ben Kinobe provides a lot of laughs. February 27, 2009

Army of Darkness - R A great fun romp and solidifed Bruce Campbell as the God of b-movie actors. There's some fine lines, some dodgy stop motion animation and just a hell of a lot of fun. February 27, 2009

Zack and Miri Make a Porno - R not the best Kevin Smith film, but still a good watch. stuffed full of his trademarks, but a little too OTT with the Apatow crew (like he's trying too hard to be Apatow). February 27, 2009

The Beach - R Actually a decent film! I hate Leo so had my qualms. Of course, I should have known that Danny Boyle don't do crap - although he has disowned the film since.

A decent tale of society outside of society and the madness that a person can go through.

Venus - R The perma-cool Peter O'Toole plays an aging actor who's got the hots for Leslie Phillips' neice's daughter - the rough round the edges Jodie Whittaker. This is more a take on what it means to be old and how you become more irrelevant to sociiety - i.e. the young.

Well acted, and quite thought provoking, even if O'Toole's character comes off a tad pervy at times.

The Last King of Scotland - R Decent "bio flick" with enough lashings of fiction to be taken with a grain of salt. You really follow the rise of Idi Amin through the eyes of McAvoy's character from saviour of the people to paranoid nut job. February 7, 2009
