Let me put it this way. In 1968 I was the first person that I new that got cable. My mom wouldn't spring $12 a month when TV was free so I spent my own money. I've been watching movies for years. I went on to become a union stagehand so that I could actually make movies. I love them. I love people more but when there are no people around movies do a good job filling the time.

To Kill A Mockingbird
Unrated
Fabulous. One of the best movies ever made and one of the few that are as good as the book which in it's own is one of the best American books ever written. See it, you'll see it again and again. I know you'll love the score by Elmer Bernstein.
3.
Romeo and Juliet
PG
Fabulous! Terrific! The best Romeo and Juliet ever made. Other than West Side Story don't bother watching any other version! Money back!
4.
Inherit the Wind
PG
A terrific movie and one of the heaviest personal relationship movies you'll ever see.
5.
Casablanca
Unrated
One of the ten best movies ever. Period. Quote/unQuote. Run, don't walk to blockbuster and rent this movie now. Watch it with your significant other, especially if they have never seen it either! Enjoy!
6.
The Day of the Jackal
PG
Terrific. One of the few movies that are as good as the book. Suspense filled thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Except that, if you know your world history, you know from the beggining that the plot failed it would be one of the few movies where you really didn't now how it was going to end. See it and skip the Bruce Willis one. A cheap re-make.

Changeling
by HenrikThat has been one of the greatest movies I have seen in a long time .Very impressive cast and direction by Clint Eastwood. A gripping experience which made the audience in the cinema speechless and touched when the curtain fell. Based on a true story, the direction is very gentle and traditional (as to classic Hollywood pre 50s). An unmissable masterpiece in movie making and storytelling, that should not be missed.

Slumdog Millionaire
by SamI have to start off with a WOW, followed by another WOW. Danny Boyle has created something amazing here. A simple story about a boy competing on a game show and searching for the long lost love of his life is given unimaginable layers and depth. No matter how many times you've seen the long lost love story I'll bet you've never seen it like this.
All the elements of the film combine to produce gold. I found the soundtrack to be outstanding (it helps I'm already an M.I.A. fan). Boyle seriously makes use of the perfect music for this film, it helps with the sense of culture. The writing is spot on clean, you keep hoping the movie does not forget about its central story with all the flashbacks, and miraculously it never does. The actors are great, even the child actors impressed me. Dev Patel (who I find hilarious in Skins) has a serious future in film if he so chooses.
Personally, I was also surprised something so riveting came from "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?". I used to watch the show in suspense but not THIS much. Several themes are explored here, but I think the most important one is money vs happiness, understandable because money is the key to happiness for so many. I'm happy to see this movie gave that mentality a complete SLAP in the face, while at the same time showing there is always hope no matter what the situation!
Rarely have I felt so genuinely submerged in another culture through film, you truly get to see the similarities and understand the differences. It's the type of film you completely lose yourself to, damn near becoming a part of. TRULY SPECTACULAR!Hey, make it your priority number 1 for movies to see! Rarely do I send recommendations but you HAVE to find out where this is playing and go see it. I...am...not...joking.
