My Favorite Movies

The movie is about a lot of things but primarily, it is about music. From the way Anita played Simon and Garfunkel?s "America" (saying it stated the reason why she's leaving their house) to Russell singing The Beatles "Peggy Sue" when a turbulence hits their plane (this is in reference to Buddy Holly, who died in a plane crash while on tour). Almost Famous places such a big significance on Rock music, as well as the people who are behind it.

The scene wherein Russell has too much acid and crashes a college party then stands on a rooftop and exclaims "I'm a golden god!" before jumping into a pool. While this might have had a historical reference (Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant said the same thing while looking over Sunset Strip from a hotel balcony), it also leads the wrong impression for most of the viewers. People have the impression that rockstars are all about drugs and sex, when they are not. It just so happens that they, like a lot of people, take drugs and get high.

it's obviously got a very high cost production and at first, i was hesitant to watch it because it looked too "bollywood" for me. but then i did and i was amazed at how dazzling the movie was, great acting, great story, plus a tragic ending you wouldn't want to miss.
