The Wild Bunch - R Now this is a classic that summarizes everything the Western genre was in the 50's and 60's into a whole film, with some of the most violent scenes at the time. I can see many directors nowadays being influenced directly or indirectly by this movie. December 16, 2009

Chocolat - PG-13 Warm and light film, but treating very deep subjects such as religion, sin, gossip, temptation, and many others. Hmm, at the end of the film I could only think about eating chocolate! December 11, 2009

As Good As It Gets - PG-13 Surely one of the best comedies of the year! Original and courageous, a wicked script and excellent performances by the whole cast, specially the adorable Helen Hunt and Jack Nicholson. Although at the end it becomes a little predictable, it has so much funny-memorable parts that kind of level the bad things. December 11, 2009

The Remains of the Day - PG Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson certainly CAN act! A classic-beautiful and elegant film about the point of view of service workers towards political issues at the begining of the XX century. Emma Thompson shows us that not only actresses with complex roles can be noticed, she does a very simple role as a maid, but does it perfectly. The story is engaging, and the overall time-space set is wonderful. December 11, 2009

Reservoir Dogs - R A very good way to start for Quentin Tarantino! This movie seems very immature comparing it to his 2-years-later-masterpiece Pulp Fiction. A very good writting and characters, but still a long way to hike towards the perfection of Pulp.

Beauty and the Beast - G This is one of the movies I grew up with, along with The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Aladdin, etc... But this is one of my favorites, it wasn't for nothing it became the first animated film to be nominated for Best Picture in the Academy Awards. One of the greatest love stories ever made, sincere and full of emotions. This movies is the perfect portrait of the real effects women have on men, even the hardest of us falls in love and shows up the romantic side. With great great music and songs, all unforgettable (Belle, Be Our Guest, Beauty and the Beast, etc) and one of the most magical and greatest scenes ever on animation: the dinner musical for the song "Be Our Guest", amazing! A perfect movie for all ages and that will last for many years. December 11, 2009
