I was expecting to go to the cinema but infact my eyes were raped and my mind was blown. If there was ever a groundbreaking blockbuster, this is the 2009 Jaws. One of the best films of the decade by far.
And I jizzed a bit. Full review soon. |

| Performance - R |
This is a total "what the fuck" film. Quick edits, strange and vibrant imagery, pulsating music, odd scenarios, explicit sex and drug use, that is still debated to be real and a fantastic use of the camera. We can see where Natural Born Killers got it's inspiration.

| Modern Times - Unrated |
Classic silent comedy (well, there are some genius uses of sound, which was always available to Chaplin but decided to put off using, for the good reason of keeping his comedy funny) that is one of the funniest and best made of all time.
In the final Little Tramp film, Chaplin shines in all his areas of work. Writing, acting, directing and scoring. One of the best and most suited scores of all time is used to acompany the slapstick humour whilst lttile sections of digetic sounds are employed to exploit some very funny ideas. Chaplin plays the tramp as an adorable character with traces of a child-like persona and a grown up one too, especially in his scenes with Paulette Goddard. This mix allows for entertaining viewing and comedy at its most effective to come into play. Paulette Godard is a good supporting character to the Tramp, helping to make some of the scenes even better, as I have just mentioned. She has some very great lines too in Chaplin's wonderful, deep screenplay, which is full of more than just slapstick humour. It is an analogy on industrialism and authoritve roles in society. Modern Times is without a single doubt one of the best comedies ever devised and transferred to the screen. It fills you with a happiness that won't die down for a good couple of hours after watching it. |

| Is Anybody There? - PG-13 |
A powerful, touching, deep and very human drama that captures the essence of how people really live, speak and behave.
Dramtic, funny, touching and tragic, this is one of the best British films or recent years. A young Bill Milner and an Old Michael Caine work extremely well together from start to finish. We watch their friendship grow from horrible, bartish taunts, observed well by Milner to a closeness the child has missed out on most of his life because of living in a retirment home in which his parents work, lacking the attention he needs. The chemistry between the leads is realistic and paves way for some of the most touching scenes in an film. An emotional plot with moments that are funny even when they have sincere undertones, rich in character development and well performaned roles by the enitre cast, this is a film that hasb een incredibly and undeservedly under-rated. Both in the sense that people either won't see it or just don't understand it. |

| Some Like It Hot - Unrated |
A classic comedy that is great for so many reasons. Tony Curtis with what is essentially a triple role, all as one character, is amazing.
A fun pursuit comedy with iconic performances from Lemmon, Curtis and of course, Monroe with an always unraveling plot with many an unexpected scene or moment arising making this both madcap hilarious and deeply suspenseful a mix Billy Wilder is brilliant at creating with his ingenious screenplays and fantastic directing style. The premise has been used over and over since, most notably in White Chicks (nothing in comparison to this) but Some Like It Hot will always be the grandfather of the drag comedy whilst remaining perfectly unvoyeristic unlike several that have followed. Some Like It Hot is one of the best, most iconic and well written comedies of all time which cleverly bends the genres or Comedy, romance, drama, thriller and to an extent, action. Vivid and colourful characters with a cartoon like quality make this comedy what it is and it shall forever be loved. |

| Tapeheads - R |
Not bad at all but it is caught in its own eighties trap; it looks 80's, it feels 80's, it is 80's...and it had all been done before, making this nothing more than a 'Seen it all before' yet entertaining film.
It follows a tired plot invoving a dimwit duo embrolied in a plot involving a sleazy politician. The typical 80's fools are played well by Tim Robbins and John Cusack but they never really got the chance to shine like they have since done. With better material and some memorable dialogue, they would have made great work out of the characters but instead they are given an only slightly funny, though innteresting script but even this has been interesting many times before in similar format. Not much is original here but to kill an hour and a half on an afternoon alone then this is good fun in which you will certainly not get bored, rather getting a sense of déjavu. |

| Magical Mystery Tour - Unrated |
Ridiculous but enjoyable and a fun film to watch, Magical Mystery Tour is a bunch of random events rolled into a 50 minute presentation with some classic Bealtes songs thrown in the mix. Acknowledge it for just being silly fun and not much else, no need to be so uptight about it afterall it isn't meant to be taken seriously.
With no plot, not script, no real director and a whole bunch of extras no wonder it is messy. But what a fine mess it is. It is hard not to enjoy it and with all the far out and very, very 60's moments it manages to be funny and, to an extent, chamring but only in its own way. The film centres around a "Magical Mystery Tour" or a crappy little bus, with Ringo and his aunt, George, Paul and John all taking a ride. That is basically it. They encounter strange things, meet strange people and generally do stuff that could only have been tought of in an acid trip. With a sun-plot involving wizards and a main plot that includes a drawf, a nonsense speaking solider and a man named Mr. Blood Vessel, Magical Mystery Tour does not take itself seriously and neither should we. What this wants us to do is sit back and enjoy the ride...on the bus. |

Looney Tunes short classic which I hold in fondness from my childhood. Fantastic animation and very funny, this short is unmissable, however old you are. Has been referenced in pop culture many times too, like in an episode of The Simpsons.
