Fargo
by AnneliesI have seen this movie so many times and it never bores me. A true terrifying thriller and an awesome prestation of actors Peter Stormare, Steve Buscemi, William H. Macy & Frances McDormand. Every time I watch it I get goose pimples and it goes straight into my heart.

Control
by AnneliesThis movie had a great soundtrack and it was well done in black / white. However after 90 minutes I was starting to get bored and thought "Now when is he finally going to kill himself?" Not a thought that would come up while watching a better movie.
Sam Riley on the other hand did a fabulous job playing Ian Curtis! Four stars for him and the soundtrack.Hey, you should really see this!

As You Like It
by SeanA delightful Shakespeare movie that is very well put together. Kevin Kiline in a talented actor that brings out some of the most memerable Shakespearian characters. Directed by one this years greatest Shakespearian actors, Keneth Brannoh. He brings this film to life with all of the actors and brings the laughter to your home.
Hey, you should really see this Shakespeare movie!

Kinky Boots
by SeanKinky Boots is such a charming, fun, entertaining movie to prove that it takes a man to bring out a woman's touch.
Chiwetel Ejiofor us well known for his acting/drama films, however, this movie proves how much talent it takes to pull off a role such as he did in this movie.
Makes you laugh and smile all the way through. Best drag queen film since Patrick Swazey in Too Wong Foo: Thanks for Everything! This is a very entertaining movie that is worth seeing when you get the chance!
You would not beable to stop smiling and laughing if you like these kind of films!posted 15 days ago -

An American Crime
by AnneliesWhat a movie, it went through heart and soul. Ellen Page is so good, how she can play such a scared person, unbelievable. She did it perfect. Nothing bad about the rest of the cast. Why did Ellen Page not get an Oscar nomination for this movie?

Grizzly Man
by AnneliesAmazing!!!!!!! I didn't know about this guy until a Flixster friend recommended me this docu last week.
It touched me like no other work ever did. The docu shows the madness and obsession of this man. He didn't like humans (he loathed most of us). I do not share that with him but I do share the love for animals although I would be too afraid to come close to an unprotected bear. Like him I keep saying "I love you" to my cats a few times a day, brushing their fur, kissing their wet nose and listening to their purring. Timothy Treadwell did that to "his" foxes. I felt horrible when hunters threw stones at his lovely friend! It must have broken his heart!
At some point in the movie we hear that Treadwell started to drink alcohol before he started his mission. During his own shoots he still screams his loathing into the camera lens, so wildly that director Werner Herzog talked through most of it. Indeed Treadwell must have been a dangerous creature when being drunk seeing his temper when he was sober!
But I still like the man because his heart is with the animals, it was in the right place and my heart did hurt while watching this docu.
Rest In Peace Timothy Treadwell & friend.Hey, you should really see this!
This is a documentary about a man worth remembering until eternity. He must have been a little crazy! And it's about animals, seen through the eyes of a true animal lover!posted 24 days ago -

Therese Raquin
by AnneliesThis one is not a movie but a TV-series. It is a play based on a novel by French writer Émile Zola who is known to be a philosopher. Along the way this story becomes darker and darker and ends in complete disaster. This drama really touched me. I bought it because I wanted to see a quite young Alan Rickman in a role which apparently isn't mentioned in the novel but only appears in the play because the viewer would understand the characters' intentions better. Brian Cox is just amazing and so is the female lead Kate Nelligan.
Absolutely a must see, if you like serious drama!Hey, you should really see this!
I'm sure you've seen it Sheena and you probably agree with me? :-)posted 31 days ago -

Dumplings (Gaau ji)
by AnneliesLess horror in this movie than I expected. It starts slowly but after a while it gets clear what it is all about. And I must say that it is not beautiful! Just do not watch it while eating!

Man in the Wilderness
by SeanOne of the most interesting and dramatic roles I have seen Richard Harris in. Left for dead, Harris travels across the country side to find the man who left him alone to die, and through his journey witnesses both death and life through his own eyes on other people. What drives this man to the end to keep going? Reminded me of the Tom Hanks film, CAST AWAY, but with a different setting.
One of the top Richard Harris classics! If you had liked Richard Harrises performance as an actor, this is a movie worth seeing.

The Secret
by SeanI had enjoyed this interesting Documentary on finding the secret of living. It is not a religious film, but rather finding happiness within yourself and believing in yourself for a better life.
Very scientific, people telling their own person experience. I watched it once, and I think it gave me enough to think about for a while, and I might give some of it a try.Watch it if you like, I only watched it once, and that was enough for me for now.
It is interesting if you have an open mind.posted 45 days ago -

Battle for Haditha
by AnneliesThe American army and George Mother Fucker W Bush should be ashamed. I am at a loss of words.
One soldier is murdered and as a result of that more than twenty innocent citizens are assassinated, just because their house happened to be in front of the place where the road bomb detonated. George W., must a three -year-old child be killed because of this? And its entire family?
After this massacre we hear the soldiers say things like "Great Job!" and "Very professional work!"
In this movie we also see that the real bombers do have small kids at home waiting for them, which disgusts me as much as the American soldiers.
Why does this army exist? Shouldn't we be listening to Al Gore instead and do something about our planet instead of staying in Irak to kill innocent people?
Remember that terrorists have no reason to place road bombs if the Americans are not in the country anymore.
Stupid Americans! Fucking Fascists! Leave Asia and do something about the American unemployed and sick people in your own country! There's enough work to do within the USA!
If you don't want to feel ashamed to be white don't watch this documentary!
PEACE TO ALL AND NO WAR.This is the result of the most stupid American in the history of the United States. While he is playing golf in his white house these things happen in Irak...
