The Adventures of Robin Hood
PG
The one that started it all. Fantastic swashbuckler with witty dialogue, great action and entertaining throughout. The essential Men In Tights movie.
Semi-Pro
R
Absolutely ridiculous, over-the top and dumb. It comes off as a cheap knock-off of Slap Shot. But it's entertaining for what it's worth.
The Killing Fields
R
Masterpiece. Easily one of the best films of the 1980s. Extremely under-rated and forgotten much like the war in Cambodia in the 60s. Haing S. Ngor is stunning in an Oscar winning performance. Reviewing this film only makes its power less impactful. Watch it.
This Is England
Unrated
Very very scary and haunting film. Worse - it's autobiographical. Good shit!
Kiss of the Spider Woman
R
William Hurt deservingly won the Best Actor Oscar for his amazing performance as Luis Molina, an imprisoned drag queen who falls in love with his cellmate Raul Julia's Valentin, a political prisoner. The film seems more like a play than a film with most of the film taking place within a confines of a cell. Gripping from start to finish.

Raiders of the Lost Ark (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark)
PG
My favorite film. The film redefined the action-adventure genre. Everything from the acting, direction, story, score, to the characters are pitch perfect. A throwback to the Saturday morning serials that lil Steven and George watched as kids. Indiana Jones is my fucking hero. Part time teacher, full time relic hunter/archeologist/adventure seeker. This movie has it all... Dark scary jungles and rainforests, double crossing accomplices, mayan temples, gigantic tarantulas, booby traps, bottomless pits, poison darts, giant rolling balls, crazy natives, mad frenchmen and SNAKES!!! ALL IN THE FIRST 20 MINUTES!!!

Schindler's List
R
One of the greatest films of all time. It deserves the importance its given. Spielberg's magnum opus.
3.
GoodFellas
R
"Funny? Funny How? Funny like I amuse you?" Stands as the best gangster film ever made with top notch direction, plot, cinematography and acting topped by a showstopping and scene stealing Oscar winning performance by Joe Pesci.
4.
The Shawshank Redemption
R
One of the most inspiring films ever and the best depiction of friendship.
5.
Saving Private Ryan
R
Another Spielberg classic. This one raised the bar for the war film which was otherwise seen from the general's POV. The GI's POV truly gives us a glimpse of the "Greatest Generation."

The Departed
R
Scorsese has made better films but none as entertaining, tense and well written as The Departed. Adapted from the Hong Kong thriller Infernal Affairs, The Departed ups the characters, plot and screen time. Scorsese infuses his trademarks in the film making it one of his best efforts. He deservedly took home the Oscar for his work here. Kudos to DiCaprio for giving the finest performance of his career here. Damon also excels in a much harder role. Walhberg steals every scene he is in and Nicholson is Nicholson... Scenery chewing.
