Pulp Fiction
by KiriOne of the most famous films ever made. This is another contender for best performances by the entire cast along with The Godfather. John Travolta was awesome as Vincent Vega and so was Samuel L. Jackson as Jules Winnfield. Bruce Willis and Uma Thurman were very good in this masterpiece. This is Quentin Tarantinos best film. I cant believe the Best Supporting Actor Oscar in 1995 didnt go to Samuel L. Jackson. Well, he was the favourite to win it. As far as Best Picture is concerned, the favourites were this, Forrest Gump and The Shawshank Redemption. But when the ceremony went underway, it was going to be either Forrest Gump or this. But the award went to Forrest Gump in the end (Yes!), even though I still love this film. I knew John Travolta wasnt going to win Best Actor and I thought that Uma Thurman was going to win Best Supporting Actress. This is a really graphic film. Not as graphic as Kill Bill though. I love the phrase from the Bible which is Ezekiel 25:17 that Jules says when he is about to kill somebody particularly the scene in the café near the end of the film. I just love this film because it is like so original, the script is absolutely superb, the general way of the characters, and the quotes that they come up with like the Bible quote and the burger. This film will be a masterpiece for generations to come.

by KiriMovies don't get much cooler than this. It is a guy movie through and through, but its not some mediocre piece of crap. It is actually rather inspiring to watch these men take on an army over 30 times their size. The look of the movie is very unique in itself. Taking techniques from Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow and Sin City to form another great movie almost completely computer generated outside of the actors. The end is very good, but many which it happened differently. Though I know from experience, that if it did happen differently, people would want it to end the way it did.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army (Hellboy 2)
by KiriIt's better, funnier, cooler and more exciting than the original. A work of a superb perfectonist. Director, Guillermo del Toro has crafted another visualley stunning, artisticly made and well-crafed film filled with amasing acton, great humor, dazzeling creatures and superb speacial effects. It says true to its story and it's characters. It's action-packed and terifficly funny. Absolutely spctacular and adreniline-pumping from start to finish. An incrediable, unforgettable and tremendously entertaining movie. Ron Pearlman, Selma Blair and Doug Jones are excelent once again as the trio of superheros that you cant help but love. Perlman gives plenty of strentgh to his role, showing dedication and love for his character crafting another amasing performance. A stunning, riveting and visionary classic. A rollar-coaster of extroadinary power and endless fun.

The Dark Knight
by KiriSimply amazing. Even better than Batman Begins, and the expectations were really high. Great performances by all the actors, Christian Bale is amazing as usual. Special mention to Heath Ledger, who's Joker interpretation is awesome. I agree with a possible posthume nomination to the Academy Awards. Really good movie, can't wait for a third one...

The Dark Knight
by JohnThis was just an absolute joy to watch. I can't say that this movie was wonderful from start to finish, but it was what the hype had made it become. Maybe even more than that.
?Whatever doesn?t kill you simply makes you? stranger?
The Dark Knight begins with a bank robbery. This is The Joker's first moment under the spot light with a silent but deadly awakening. He advances with his insanity in just a few minutes of screen time. The Joker's entrance was just the tie-in from Jim Gordon's final statement in Batman Begins. I wasn't entirely enthralled by the start. It's mostly because I saw the first six minutes of it online several months before making its appearance on the silver screen. Eventually, I accepted it for what it is. Mostly, I enjoyed it from the little gags The Joker presented himself with; An interesting way to begin a film, but not in the least bit surprising. After all, this is Christopher Nolan?s first sequel. To avoid any unessicary failure, he drew ideas from various sequels to see how they were being introduced and he got through it with flying colors. ?I just wanted to see what you would do. And you didn?t disappoint?.
PLOT:
?I?m a dog chasing cars. I wouldn't know what to do with one if I caught it. I just do things?
The story was slightly unstable and care free. The first half was a serious problem for me to enjoy. I didn't like it all too much. it was too random and had little excitement. Lau was useless to begin with, Coleman Reese was a meaningless threat, Bruce Wayne and the Russian ballet, especially his "date", were too much glass i had to shallow [if you know what I mean]. The Dark Knight didn't have a plot, story, or purpose. But that's what made it work. To quote Heath Ledger. This centers around the film's "plot" as well, but just one half of its plot. This half is The Joker being completely destructive unexpectedly. This other half is...
?You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain?
Harvey Dent, later known as Two-face, has his story revolving around yet another quote from the film. That's what The Dark Knight is all about. It's the adjective for Dent, Wayne, and Joker. They all have that going for them.
ACTING:
?Let?s put a smile on that face?
First and most importantly, The Joker? or Heath Ledger, rather; A brilliant actor with no limits in this thrill ride. He displayed one of the greatest and most honorable performances in any film I've seen. I'd say that he was better than the hype declared. I enjoyed every scene he had and I wish he could've been in more. Really, I do. When you watch this, you don't see Heath Ledger at all. You see what Heath was able to bring us. He brought something much more than I could have ever hoped for. He ended his career with no such flaw. I will never forgot what I saw. I will never forget him. Believe me when I say this, if it weren't for Heath Ledger, this movie would have no impact on me.
No one should compare Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger in any way by their performances as The Joker. Honestly, they're both great and unique in their own way. Jack was outgoing, fresh, comedic, crazy. Heath was strong, demented, clever, witty. They're both fantastic. Personally, Ledger was more enjoyable to me. He put a smile on my face and he didn't even have use a knife. He gave the performance of the decade, in the movie event of the decade. That doesn?t mean he?s better than Nicholson. I respect them both as The Joker. I know many find Jack to be the true definition of The Joker. Others would disagree and say Heath was much better in his figure and presentation. It really doesn?t matter what the contrast between the two are. Heath and Jack are two different Jokers. Deal with it.
On July 18th, IMDb (Internet Movie Database) had this film set at #4 during the day's early hours on the site?s Top 250 Movies list, and as the day grew old, it was set to #3. Currently, The Dark Knight is in the #1 spot of the 250 list with nearly 120,000 votes to back it up and has remained so for several days now. This is just far too much praise for a newly released picture. I realize that this film is Heath Ledger's last major role and has been hyped up for quite some time. I even have to say that I highly enjoyed watching each minute of it, but I just don't think the outcome should be exaggerated so much.
Just so you know... I still have a lot more to write about this movie. Mainly: the Acting, the Music, the Visuals, and my Conclusion
?Depending on the time, he could be in one place or several?
?Do I really look like a guy with a plan??
?Why so serious??
?You wanna know how I got these scars??
ACTING: 7/10
DIRECTING: 9/10
STORY: 6/10
VISUALS: 10/10
SCORE/MUSIC: 10/10

Brokeback Mountain
by JohnA drama with a beautifully scripted story. All the negativity this film gets is just heartbreaking. Yes, it's about a gay relationship, but Ledger and Gylenhaal make it seem so real from trhe start to the end. Both men find women that bond with, but the love they express for each other is more deeply than any other they could be offered. This film easily could've and should have won best picture.

The Abyss
by JohnOh, boy what a movie this was. Every scene was very suspenseful. And yes, i do mean nail-biting suspense. I almost had a heart attack. Haha. Not really... but the visuals though at first limited are very impressive for yet another 80s film... other 80s Special Efects for films i am refering to are TRON and Back to the Future. The ending was slightly pathetic, but also a relief to view. I wanted to watch it the second it finished. At some parts it tends to be slow and this only worsens in th extended version [which i have yet to see]. Overall......... this is a glorious film with nothing less than a strapped-in ride that'll make you scream yourself unconscious
You Really Need To See This! It's Amazing!
