The most brilliant comedy ever. A friend sent it for my birthday one year; I watched it and thought...it's okay. But I wanted to watch it again. After that, I thought it was pretty good. Five days and five viewings later - absolutely unheard of for me - and it was one of my favorite pictures ever. An absolute winner, in turns hilariously funny and very melancholy, this is possibly the only post-'50s film I would take to a desert island.
