Synopsis : Jodhaa Akbar is a sixteenth century love story about a political marriage of convenience that gave birth to true love between a great Mughal emperor, Akbar, and a Rajput princess, Jodhaa. Political success knew no bounds for Emperor Akbar (Hrithik Roshan). After having secured the Hindu Kush, he furthered his realm by conquest until his empire extended from Afghanistan to the Bay of Bengal, and from the Himalayas to the Narmada River. Through a shrewd blend of diplomacy, intimidation and brute force, Akbar won the allegiance of the Rajputs. This allegiance was not universal. Maharana Pratap and many other Rajputs always considered Akbar as a foreign invader. Maharana Pratap also banned inter marriages between Rajputs who had given their daughters to the Mughals and the ones who did not. But little did Akbar know that when he married Jodhaa (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), a fiery Rajput princess, in order to further strengthen his relations with the Rajputs, he would in turn be embarking upon a new journey ? the journey of true love. The daughter of King Bharmal of Amer, Jodhaa resented being reduced to a mere political pawn in this marriage of alliance, and Akbar?s biggest challenge now did not merely lie in winning battles, but in winning the love of Jodhaa ? a love hidden deep below resentment and extreme prejudice. Not to forget the beauty of India and their cultural problems , a real MARVELOUS historical romance of one of the most exotic place in Asia called India . The setting was extremely perfect and beautiful . You will see the greatness of God in that beautiful desert captured in perfect cinematography by Ashutosh Gowariker . Jodhaa Akbar amazed me for 3 and half hours . VERY LONG TIME and sometimes it was very boring , it made my brain went slower for a while and it wasn't that nice when the scenes start to be slow and useless . But , there's amazing tension after those boring scenes . So , i can say that the "boring feeling" was cured after the tension scene came out . What keeps me woke up was the extremely beautiful scenery , cinematography , the set , the costume and the "smooth" acting from the actors . Well , the songs or i can say the soundtrack of the movie itself was pretty amazing eventhough there was too much repetition upon few songs which distracted me for a while from the movie . The tunes of the songs themself were pretty beautiful without losing its traditional Bollywood tune . Jodhaa Akbar doesn't lose its BOLLYWOOD points like dancing scenes , love scenes etc . But, Ashutosh Gowariker could make Jodhaa Akbar as an expensive-looking movie even with those classic BOLLYWOOD thingies . Surely perfect for this one , eventhough sometimes there's still some scenes which were too long and boring . Then , the actors and the actresses . All eyes on Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan . 99% perfect chemistry between them , expensive faces work with luxurious kingdom sets and of course with great acting of those two . They could make this movie and their movements as another representative of art . At the end , i really like this movie , extremely luxurious beauty from India , PROBABLY THE BEST BOLLYWOOD MOVIE EVER . If i watched this in a festival(or cinema) , i would give Jodhaa Akbar a standing ovation . THE MOVIE ITSELF IS AN ART . |

first impression: gripping ?a bit' . Boring ? No . Inspirative? No . First , Angels and Demons isn't really a refreshing movie . It's not heavy either . But , it's not reallly satisfying . I saw this movie and pretty bored . I didn't even think while i was watching this movie . I even think that the popcorn was more appealing than the movie itself . The ending itself wasn't really captivating . There's one scene i remember most actually , when the third priest was hung with wild fire below him . It was pretty cool . But , the adventure itself not even better than National Treasure 2 . And this movie is defenitely below the first one , Da Vinci Code . |

we're going in the speed of light , surrender now or we prepare to fight Well , i can say this one is one of the worst live-action i have ever seen in my life . First , SUPER SHORT MOVIE DURATION . Well , do you all know that DB comes from a very very long manga series ? And how Stephen Chow made it to be only 1 hour plus plus was something stupid . Second , Putting stupid scenes The futuristic theme is including to put American mean school-students(THE FULLER SCENES which was so so useless) . Simply , mixing reality and fantasy life. It doesn't work ! Third , INSULTING OUR INTELLIGENCE Do the makers think that the audiences will be all kids so they need to do some useless repetition upon the base of the story? Fourth , POOR ACTING , COSTUME AND MAKE-UP The costumes were waaay too wierd . Because they mixed reality and fantasy . How Justin Chatwin used the shirt and jeans rather than Goku's original orange fighting suit . Then , the acting . Even the great actor , Chow Yun Fat(as Master Roshi) looked so absurd in this movie . I don't know whether it was his own fault or the director's fault . Well , the only one who was 'okay' is only Ms. Emmy Rossum as Bulma . Well , the make-up is .... undeniable bad .  Flixster - Share Movies  Fifth , FAILED IN MIXING POPULAR JAPANESE CULTURE AND HOLLYWOOD Yeah , it was the school , then the stupid set then the costume then the stupid power ranger lava monsters .  At the end, yes . we need a lot more better sequel , Maybe Wachowski bros should take this one(Change the set , change the crews and casts) . first impression : miraculous and impressive . Honest , exciting and lovable . The first Oscar movie which was very exciting and pretty 'Blockbuster' . But , it was exciting and wonderful since the beginning . This movie made me love Danny Boyle so much!!! The score(It was very WOW!!! I can't wait to buy the soundtrack cd!), the cinematography , the setting(It was very refreshing to choose India as the set) . It gave me laugh , love and tears ! Movie that can touch emotion and show us the reality of poverty in India . But , there's some little mistakes in this movie . First , why every question connected with his life chronologically ? Plot : n an extremely rare decision, the Catholic Church officially recognized the demonic possession of a 19-year-old college freshman. A lawyer takes on a negligent homicide case involving a priest who performed the exorcism that resulted in the girl's death. I really appreciate the excitement of watching this movie . Maybe there were some absurdities in this movie or you can say 'blank horror' at the beginning , . But , there were some straight reasons for sure : 1. THE FIERCE COURT DEBATE . With one side who defended the supernatural explanations and the other defended the medical explanations .  2. Haunting performance from Jennifer Carpenter. Jennifer did well in her body movement and her expression , yet her voice . Especially , when she acted as the 'devil/(s) within her' . Eventhough at the beginning of the movie , she wasn't that good .  3. The tag : Based on true story , it's about exorcism , the demons , the angels and the supernatural things which are believed by non-atheist . And i told us both in the atheist side and the non-atheist(Catholic mostly) . 4. The supernatural theories . Including the "3 a.m." thing . At the end, me , as a Christian . I can say that this is the movie which had said to me that the possession of demons are very ... hem .. i can't say much . This movie is haunting and scary . Actually , the big thing of the movie isn't only Mickey . Mickey did great job here , unfortunately he don't get Oscar . So sad.. But , i like him since i saw this movie . But , i also paid attention to Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood who did great too here . Especially Marissa in his role as Cassidy , the stripper . She rocked both her body language and her emotion in this movie . Fantastic! First , i thought it would be boring tiring movie . But , my thought is wrong . The Wrestler is packaged in good way , in any aspect ,include the actors and the script . But , i see some flaws in scoring here , there's some scenes that IMO need the background music or score . Eventhough it contained bloody scenes . But , they aren't the cheap ones . Mostly , they are memorable , especially 'the staples fight' , scary , yes it was scary . But , it was something unforgettable . Not forget to mention Evan Rachel Wood's works in the family issue . She was coming back to her Thirteen role and it was nice , eventhough her acting is still below Marissa Tomei's . At the end, this movie is brutally beautiful and touching . Somehow heartwarming and absurdly tearjerker(i almost cried..) . But , something you must know is : MICKEY ROURKE's r resurrection!!! i'm pretty lazy to write the review . But , let me keep it short . DOUBT gave me the thrill of watching movie about school about being lame and tacky . DOUBT gave ironical story about the Catholic school . DOUBT is highly supported by Meryl Streep , who acted tremendously fierce here . Acting perfectly as someone who was so so so annoying , as you can see as 'most hateful teacher' in school . Not to forget Viola Davis , who gave us 12 minutes of greatness , with her miraculous chemistry with Meryl Streep . DOUBT is a very good movie but still , not perfect since it wasn't the 'fantastic' creative one . |

"LIVING REVOLUTIONARY , NOTHING LESS THAN LEGENDARY" Symbolsm of style , coolness and cult . Classic . This movie is undeniably classic from Martin Scorsese . It was pretty boring opening but it was starting to get nicer after 20 minutes of watching , especially after he met Jodie Foster(as Iris) . How the gangster-battle , bloody gun-scenes , revolver scenes and the training . How De Niro made his role extremely exquisite . Made me say "i want more!" when the credit role appeared . I can't deny how thrilling and cool the music was and how inspiring the outfits were . At the end, A classically rodigious product from Martin Scorsese . first-impression: dark and magical . Born different doesn't mean you are the curse coming from the God . Ed taught us all about that , being different and special . Edward Scissorhands surely a movie with GREAT story . Simple , beautiful and touching . Plus , there was Johny Depp who acted nicely here , along with Wynona which was pretty innocent here . How Danny Elfman gave me this brilliant scoring , so dark , enchanting yet magnificent . But , i never really like the movie actually . How Burton represented this dark but colorful , reminded me of Desperate Housewives' Wisteria Lane in Burton way which i never like . first-impression : a very funny creative comedy . Maybe it is too much to give Tropic Thunder . But , i can't deny that i like this funky creative comedy so much . The cameos , the fake trailers , the white-turns black actor , the Vietnam setting ,the ironies and Robert Downey Jr.(He got the nomination , right?) . All were so funky , creative and funny of course . Watching Tropic Thunder gave me the unique fun experience , since the setting reminds me of my childhood movie (Yeah , Alexa Vega's ones) . But , Tropic Thunder is not for kids . The power of the movie itself is the ideas . The creative funky ideas , mixing showbiz , comedy and military in Asian setting . At the end, Yes, it's not a heavy movie . But , i can't deny how i like this movie so much . Since there's no comedy in Hollywood as creative as this . "Want to erase someone from your mind???" A mind blowing movie with crazy eccentricity . Yet quirky and unique . Mind-blowing and confusing . Well , i never like this movie . Although it seems like 'my type of movie' . It was soooo boring , nothing made my excitement . Great acts(including Kirsten Dunst) , check . Drama , check. love story , check . Quirky character, check . This movie reminds me a lot of Being John Malcovich . But , in more confusing and boring ways . The idea itself was absolutely brilliant . "time is spinning backward!" This movie is extremely glorious , unique and creative . Proving that time-matters can do an Oscar things . But , it was all very long way to feel the emotion of the movie . But , it was all magical since the beginning of the curiosity . It was journey of magical stories and panoramas . Stories of life and death , stories of time-matters. Both Brad and Cate did tremendously awesome performances but a little difference from Cate . Cate who usually plays as a fierce lady , turned out to be so sweet and girly . Not forget to mention Taraji P. Henson(Queenie) did a great performance here . I cried twice . It was so heartwrenching a la Tim Burton . again , a la Tim Burton . This is something i wouldn't think that Fincher was doing it in Burton's way . It was a bit' lack of originality. But , this movie reminds me of Forrest Gump and Big Fish(With almost similar directing ways) . Both aren't Fincher's works , so i can say the only weakness of this movie is its lack of Fincher's originality .  -Benjamin Button- |

first impression : a movie enchanting from the beginning until the end of its story. Story : In 1970s Iran, Marjane 'Marji' Statrapi watches events through her young eyes and her idealistic family of a long dream being fulfilled of the hated Shah's defeat in the Iranian Revolution of 1979. However as Marji grows up, she witnesses first hand how the new Iran, now ruled by Islamic fundamentalists, has become a repressive tyranny on its own. With Marji dangerously refusing to remain silent at this injustice, her parents send her abroad to Vienna to study for a better life. However, this change proves an equally difficult trial with the young woman finding herself in a different culture loaded with abrasive characters and profound disappointments that deeply trouble her. Even when she returns home,,Marji finds that both she and homeland have changed too much and the young woman and her loving family must decide where she truly belongs. It was inside Marji's head . All this cartoon story was everything inside Marji's head , told us her opinions of the ideologies and her life . The movie itself was quite long movie but as exciting as any cartoon rarely never been . This totally not a child consumption since it was always declaring the ideologies and showing both negative and positive perspectives . The movie acknowledges us about the Iranians , the culture shock , the extraordinary thoughts of Marjane Satrapi who was not very into the Iranian's ideology(read : pretty liberal). From her childhood cuteness to her unique adult thoughts served in artistic masterpiece film . Persepolis gave me an excitement of watching cartoon as i never felt before. Why did i give 5 stars? Beside the story , the animation , the music , the setting were settled in greatness and excitement . Eventhough Persepolis is black and white picture . "shhhhh...." Plot: Tae-suk is homeless and lives like a phantom. His daily routine involves temporarily staying in houses and apartments he knows to be vacant. He never steals from nor damages his unknowing hosts' homes; rather, he is like a kind ghost, sleeping in other people's beds, eating a little food out of strangers' refrigerators and repaying their unintended hospitality by doing the laundry or making small repairs. Sun-hwa was once a beautiful model, but she has become withered living under the shadow of her abusive husband, who keeps her imprisoned in their affluent, expensively decorated house. Tae-suk and Sun-hwa are bound by fate to cross paths though their invisible existences. They meet when Tae-suk breaks into Sun-hwa's house and they instantly recognize the similarity of their souls. As if bound by unseen ties, they find themselves unable to separate and quietly accept their bizarre new destiny. A very silent yet intriguing and bold . The ideas itself were pretty amusing . Beneath those silent acts , there's so much meaning in it . 3-Iron gave us a dramatic journey of 2 peoples . A unique presentation from Ki-Duk Kim , journey of love , betrayal , and eccentricity merely without any conversation , and developing our curiousity while watching it . 3-Iron gave us a movie full of pure-art of body languages . It also gave us some hidden meanings which are still blurred but their existances are real . At the end , with great actor , unique ideas and unpredictable scenes and endings , i can consider 3-Iron as a great movie . xD  -Min Gyu- |

As he digs more, he discovers that his wife might be connected to the whole mystery. Soon, he has to decide to leave the boy to die or to lose everything and everyone he knows. It is a high-quality masterpiece from Joko Anwar , With miraculous SCORE and directing , made this movie 10 times better than Laskar Pelangi . With undeniable acting skill from Fachri Albar . He served a total cool , enchanting , psychotic performance .  With mixture techniques from Casino Royale , Psycho and Fight Club made this movie as classy as any other great Hollywood production . Playing in any factor of movie . Forbbiden Door thrilled me , scared me as The Ring would do to me , eventhough it is only a thrilling movie WITHOUT ANY GHOST APPEARANCE . Joko Anwar made this movie slick smart from the beginning . Made this movie's ending and purposes are unbelievably unpredictable yet shocking . Not to forget the fanciness from this movie . His foresight pays off when a spaceship is sighted in the sky. But before Sanjay can enjoy his success, he and his wife, Sonia (Rekha), become the victims of a tragic accident. GUILTY PLEASURE . Watching this Bollywood product was a guilty pleasure . Koi Mil Gaya reminded me of E.T. . The acting was so-so . But , the idea is a total-kid's movie and i watched this when i was only a kid and i liked it . The effect was also so-so . Please , what do you expected from Bollywood ? Joi Mil Gaya is a pretty refreshing movie with heartwrenching ideas a la E.T. at the end, a movie to laugh , dream and cry . But , not that nice ... just mediocre . |
