The part that made Marylin a star.
It can only raise a question: Why not cast her in other femme fatale parts? She was simply perfect in it. This movie is the proof that studios made a big mistake in not casting Marilyn more often as a femme fatale. When you see all the sexiness she carries throughout the movie you understand the obsession of the other characters surrounding her. It's a very good vehicle and memorable not only for Marilyn but for its other stars who did a pretty good job. |

This movie pleasently surprised me. Having a a big vampire fan in my home and having seen lots of movies made with the undead, vampires and several other horror legendary creatures (some kind of obsession with movies lately and extremelly violent), I didn't expect to see such a romantic plot.
The breathtaking photography makes us forget some very silly lines. I think strongly of the first time Bella meets her beloved vampire's family. The dialogue on that scene was unbelievable. I am sure the actors had hard time saying those lines. They sure had to laugh their heads off between takes. On the other hand the director sure did her homework. The influence of silent horror movies such as Nosferatu is impressive even if very subtle. The way the actors' eyes were filmed were worthy of a classic movie. I nice movie to watch with a loved one beside you ;) Hope he/she doesn't bite though. |
