I recommend you see...Hey, you should really see this! Nothing greatly new here but bloody entertaining!
Doomsday
by MarkExcellent futuristic action romp with definite nods to Mad Max and Escape From New York bought to you by the makers of Dog Soldiers and The Descent.
You know you are gonna get over the top violence and thrills from Neil Marshall so to this end you will be not disappointed.
Brutally entertaining!posted 208 days ago -
I recommend you see...Hey, you should really see this!
The Prestige
by MarkExcellent period thriller/drama that is boosted by a stellar cast and amazing photgraphy and visuals.
The basic plot is about 2 young magicians working together for an established performer until one of the illusions goes tragically wrong. They then have an intense rivalry to be the best magician, causing one of them to become obsessed when he sees the other perform the 'perfect illusion' and he will stop at nothing until he finds out the secret of how its done.
Great plot with some nice twists and turns, well worth seeing.posted 264 days ago -
I recommend you see...Hey, you should check this out if you like Dee Snider or 'B' horror movies.
StrangeLand
by MarkFinally got to see this after years of wanting to and i must admit it was exactly what i expected and therefore i really enjoyed it.
I was a massive Twisted Sister fan as a youth and still like listening to them today so was intrigued when a movie was made about a set of songs 'Horrorteria' off the 'Stay Hungry' album. Dee Snider gives a sound performance as Captain Howdy and some of his quotes as he tortures his victims or chats on the web are fantastic.
If you don't like 'B' horror movies, stay away, otherwise, enjoy!posted 279 days ago -

I recommend you see...Sorry, a little behind on this movie franchise, heres my thoughts.
Saw IV
by MarkI enjoyed this, tried to tie in 2 and 3 and plays it more for gore than story, nonetheless, i thought it was the best since the first.
Now to see part 5!posted 359 days ago -

I recommend you see...If you liked the game, you should love it, if you don't know the game, it's a great character driven action romp.
Max Payne
by MarkAn excellent video game to big screen adaptation that loses none of what made it a disturbingly great game.
The game already had a cinematic quality to it and a half decent story line and this has not been messed with too much.
Wahlberg puts in a fittingly dark and brooding performance as the lead character troubled and driven by his purpose in life of finding the killer of his wife and baby.
Set design and lighting are superb, as are the hallucinating sequences where the visual fx come to the fore.
Fans of the game will appreciate the fact that some scenes are instantly recognisable and the fact that 'bullet time' has been used in combat scenes.
Overall, an enjoyable action romp.posted 377 days ago -
I recommend you see...Hey, you should really try this, better than the usual schlock horror.
Unrest
by MarkA well made low budget shocker about a new medical student who embarks on her gross anatomy course and gets more than she bargained for.
Basically its about a dead womans soul which is not at rest and is causing death and havoc with all those she comes into contact with.
There is more background plot than that of course, but you get the picture.
It is well acted and directed and does not just play it for gore, it messes with the mind too.
An interesting aside (or weird) depending on your thinking is the fact that it was the first time a real corpse was allowed in the filming of a fictional movie.
Have fun guessing which cadaver it is!posted 391 days ago -
I recommend you see...Just my opinion, but worth a watch.
The Reaping
by MarkAn atmospheric chiller with great visual effects and sound acting.
A bit too religious in parts for my taste, so the plagues were a bit lost on me, although i had enough knowledge to get around the plot.
Not as clever as it thinks though and a little predictable at the end.
For me, this knocks the rating down a peg.posted 393 days ago -
I recommend you see...Hey, you should really see this if you don't want to see a too clever horror movie and like gore.
Black Christmas
by MarkNot as bad as i expected, not the best of remakes at all but a no brainer of a gore movie with all the right ingredients, blood, pretty girls and demented killers.
If you want a quality modern slasher, then watch Rob Zombies remake of Halloween. If you want mindless fun horror for 80 mins, then watch this.posted 393 days ago -
I recommend you see...Just my opinion.
Chaos
by MarkA poor blatant rip off of Wes Cravens Last House On The Left.
At the beginning the film gives you a warning of its graphic nature but tries to justify it by saying that if you watch you just might save your or your childs life.
Basically its about some criminals on the run hiding out in the woods who ensnare two teenagers who have been duped by the gang leaders son into following him to score some ecstasy.
What follows is the gang sexually torturing the girls and then pursuing them when they try to escape, culminating in a violent conclusion at the home of one of the girls parents.
Its a poorly acted movie that tries to take inspiration from 70's grindhouse cinema but alas only copies it.posted 396 days ago -
I recommend you see...Do not bother!
BloodRayne II: Deliverance
by MarkEr, at least the first was enjoyable trash entertainment, this one is just trash!
