I recommend you see...Hey, you should really see this!
A fantastic Spanish horror.
[Rec]
by MarkFor every 50 run of the mill horrors that seem to come out these days, at least there is always a real gem waiting to be seen.
Not that this movie is overly original, but what it is, is made really well. A local film crew are filming a fly on the wall documentary on a fire station and the whole film is shot through their camera adding to the creepy feel of the movie.
When they go on aroutine call to rescue a trapped old lady from her apartment, things take a grisly turn.
A gripping flesh eater film with a nice little plot twist about the origins of the zombies.

I recommend you see...One to rent or catch on TV if you ain't got nothing else to watch.
Mortuary
by MarkThis movie by Tobe Hooper (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Poltergeist) actually slipped under my radar.
I happened to catch it when i was surfing cable for something to watch and there it was on the Zone Horror channel.
It ain't know classic but is actually quite entertaining, zombies, gore, creepy funeral home, strange locals and pretty girls and black humour. Perfect formula for a horror movie not to be taken too seriously.
Tobe Hooper seemed to have disappeared of late apart from the Masters Of Horror episode he directed, so its good to see him back.posted 473 days ago -
I recommend you see...Hey, watch it and decide for yourself, i think it will get mixed feelings.
Lost Boys 2: The Tribe
by MarkDo not expect a classic of its generation like the first one and you just may enjoy it.
Basically it takes the story of the first one and retells it to a certain degree. The film tries to capture the atmosphere and feel of he original but does not quite pull it off.
Corey Feldman returns as vampire killer Edgar Frog in a stand out tongue in cheek role and Tom Savini (make up genius) is also in at the beginning.
There are some nice touches and references to the first film, so keep your eye out for some of the less obvious ones.
All in all, not that bad but ry not to compare it to its parent movie.
Stick around at the credits for a quality cameo performance from one of the original actors as quite not what you may expect.posted 473 days ago -
I recommend you see...You may want to see this if you like vampire films but be warned, you may be disappointed.
Rise: Blood Hunter
by MarkBelow my expectations this film was, some quality actors given a weak script to work with but do their best.
The plot holds nothing new, human turned into vampire and wants revenge on creators.
Some decent bloody moments and an almost film noir feel to it don't raise i above the average bar unfortunately.posted 491 days ago -

I recommend you see...Just to be topical, a great film to watch with the lady in your life.
Wimbledon
by MarkI was made to sit and watch this with the wife and thought i was gonna dread every minute.....surprisingly i really enjoyed it.
Funny, touching, well acted and the Wimbledon settings are great.
Paul Bettany is fast becoming a favorite actor of mine and Kirsten Dunst has that sexy but girl next door thing going for her.
A good movie to watch with the mrs after all!posted 528 days ago -

I recommend you see...Not really a recommendation, just my opinion of what should have been a great film.
Hannibal Rising
by MarkAlthough it has its moments, the film is incredibly lacking in suspense and shocks compared to the other four movies (including Manhunt by Michael Mann).
It seems to clutch at straws to make us see why Hannibal is why he is and the plot threads linking the other movies are feeble to say the least.
Not all bad but should and could have been better.
Although the novel that it is based on is not that great either, so source material did'nt help.posted 534 days ago -

I recommend you see...Hey, you should really see this!
A fine thriller from 'down under'.
Black Water
by MarkA great little independent, low budget Aussie thriller/horror full of tension and suspense.
The killer beast of a Crocodile really does come across all evil and prehistoric in every sense of the word!
It would be unfair to make comparisons with Jaws but i have not felt fear come off the screen from a film of this type since that classic was made.
The acting is top notch and the camera work and music add to the 'where has it gone!' feel.
A must see for suspense fans.posted 553 days ago -
