Where the Wild Things Are - PG max is a tearaway, andwhen he goes to far with his mother, runs away, and reasons unknown, sails to a island, where he befriends these creatures, who make him king, he fits right in here,as these are basically parentless kids, smashing things up and having fun, but needing a leader, max fits the bill, spike jonze brings his style to the beloved childrens book, which i havent read, adding some indie tunes to mix,and independend filmmmaking look, some great voicework on show also, james gandolphini as carol, is a highlight.and very watchable, a film, that has a adult feel, but suitable for everyone, funny and touching December 21, 2009

Avatar - PG-13 on the big screen, simply stunning, the 3d digital picture looking simply superb, the forest scenes, with all the plant life coming alive, but oviously its more than that to make a great film, and it has so much more, jake inthe body of a navi, isquite simply one of the best examples ofdigital work ive seen, along with other charactors. bringing the full emotion a digital charactor can, watch the navi he falls for, played brillantly by zoe saldana for proof of this. the story it self. humans coming to the navi world, playe relent to todays climate, and is interesting throughout. and love story works, evenif it is 2 c.g.i charactors, which isthis films main sucess, and of course coming from cameron theres the action, some great moments, the starwars prequels showed for me, cgi done badly both in creature design and other worlds and backgrounds, not here, everything is spot on, wil i enjoy it as much on small screen, who knows, but for this review, a epic viewing on big screen December 21, 2009

Ghosts of the Abyss - PG documentary shot for imax, james cameron has been away for 12 years after titanic became the most successful film of all time and he himself was king of the world at oscars, but it wasent time thinking about avatar or polishing his oscars, hes been deep under the sea revisiting the wreckage of titanic, and here we see himand fellow friend and actor in his films bill paxton visit the wreck, with technologi to go inside, a fasinating look at wreckage, at a slimm 1 hour, but fits a lot in, and a interesting concept, superinposing staged scenes over filmed scenes to show ship in glory days next to wreckage today, always fasinating to watch, and fun to see at first a panick stricken paxton getting prepared for first dive, soalso a must for fans of his, the doc doesent add anything new to history of ship, but does add fasinating glimpses of ship 90 years on.
