One of my favorite films form my childhood. Love the songs...cheesy and they stick with you throughout the years. I still can hear Duvall singing "He's large...and he's mine." in her Olive voice in my head all these years later! I MUST get this movie on DVD.
Tank Girl

So bad it is good. I enjoyed this film, despite it's huge flaws and cheese factor. Definitely weird and fun.
Run, Fat Boy, Run
PG-13
I love Simon Pegg to detah as an actor but thsi film blew. It wa sunfunny, boring, and slited. I was so disappointed with it. Ah well...maybe Pegg's next film will bring the funny.
Kenny
PG-13
Pretty funny..done in documentary style and all about a guy who empties septic tanks in porta potties.
Snow Angels
R
Slow moving and the ending made no sense yet the story sucked me in. I loved Beckinsale's acting in this film. Well done.
Smart People
R
Incredibly overrated. I had trouble staying interested in the film and the only character that was vaguely interesting was the one played by Ellen Page. Just another rip-off of the kooky dysfunctional family story that Little Miss Sunshine did so much better.

Great, innovative film. Funny even if it is about drug addicts in Scotland. Even the soundtrack kicks all kinds of ass!

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind

I LOVE this film. It has many layers and the acting is great. Even Jim Carrey does a wonderful job.

Second Hand Wedding
by GaryIt seems this little gem of a movie is fairly unknown outside of New Zealand, but if you can track it down, it's a hilarious slice of kiwiana. Very funny with its typical self depricating humour and a big slice of family heart. I just caught this on R4 DVD and hope it gets the recognition it deserves. Also New Zealanders will recognise heaps of faces from national TV shows, which is kinda fun. A genuine Indie treat!
None of you have rated this great little New Zealand movie, so let me be the first to emphasise how hilarious it is! Good luck tracking down this gem!!

Tremors
by GaryFantastic B-movie horror/comedy with some genuinely creepy moments. The cast are fun (wow Kevin Bacon looks young) and there are genuine laughs to be had. The effects look a little dated now, but that's part of the fun with B-movies. Surprisingly great script makes this better than most of its kind and it spawned 3 sequels (which I suspect may suck). Sure it's a bit cheesy, but in all the best ways. Loved it as a kid and it still hraces my DVD collection. Grab it!!!
Broke out this classic last night and was reminded just how fun a cheesy B-movie horror/comedy can be.

Superman: Doomsday
by GaryThe 'Death and Return of Superman' storyline gets an animated effort in this fairly liberal but still exciting presentation. While the story tends to drag and the action is few and far between, the fight scenes are simply awesome and the voice cast is outstanding all round. Far better than many comic book animations and well worth a look, even if you haven't caught the graphic novels. And... ya gotta love Superman in the black suit!
Not just for us comic book geeks. Teriffic fight scenes!

Deficit
by scottanother good role from gael garcia bernal, as a rich kid, who invites all mates for a day of fun in his parents mexican home, eyeing up a girl, while getting ticked off with things in his life and various other things, not much else, but a good watch, esprcially for fans of him,

Righteous Kill
by scottdeniro/pacino, first things firt, seeing these two share the screen for more than one scene, is a joy, deniro clearly showing his age now, has the better role than pacino, but with some nice turns throughout, there a joy to watch, the story is a little diferent for a who done it cop thriller and nicely done, nothing that heat was 13 years previously, but it proves that you can get these fine actors to read a book, and something interesting will come from t
who wouldent want to see deniro/pacino

Appaloosa
by scotted harris directs this westarn, and a type i enjoy most, taking care of the bad guys, ed harris is a great gunslinger, along with his trusted companion played by viggo mortessan are hired to marshall a town, after years of hastle from jeremy irons and his gang of low lives, they suceed in warning them off, but are always on there toes, and when a young women played by renee zellwegger moves to town, a quiet life may be on the cards for the gunslinger, or could it be both of them she likes, things turn when irons is captured for murder, and justice needs to be served, the legal kind, a western from this year that is very old school in its aproach, takes its time and knows how to tell the story, harris and mortessen are great as old friends, and the usually annoying zellwegger comes off ok, irons also doing his dastardly deeds to great affect, some good moments throughout, action and drama combined, and yet again proof the western isnt dead

Come Drink With Me
by JoelOk you have to understand that this bad boy was made in 1966. Its amazing for its time. there are some very hard cuts in the editing that take you out of the movie from time to time but in all its beautifully filmed and is a land mark in Honk Kong cinema. Give it a look to see some of the roots of what we watch today(nn)

Hellboy II: The Golden Army (Hellboy 2)
by MajbrittMust admit that I was dissapointed with this one. Very well made film and nothing wrong with the cast. I just got the feeling that it might have been a mistake letting del Toro have things his own way. The creatures looked like something out of pan's Labyrinth and I thought that this one was very slow going compared to the first one. I was expecting more action and a bit more of an edge to Hellboy. There were some good sequences, but it is not one that will suffer from being watched on dvd.

The Wave
by scottwould a dictatership work in todays germany, thats the question put to high school kids in gemany, and are given a glimpse on how a dictatershp would feel like, as there class, become known as the wave, with its own salute, by a eager teacher, and quite predictibly, it doesent go to well,,a inportant film, especially for germany, and its young, dealing with how germanys youth see this type of subject, especially there past, and where do they stand, a well thought out film

Smart People
by K JSmart People is an extraordinarily written film which plays more on the dramatic side than the comedic. Centered around a quirky family, Smart People is not only well written, each actor is perfect in their respective roles. The Pittsburgh locale fits the backdrop for the film to a tee. A very enjoyable film to watch, and no pun intended, a very smart comedy.
A different side shown by Dennis Quaid, and Thomas Hayden Church is hilarious....

The Foot Fist Way
by JoelFor a independent flick this movie does what it sets out ot do. I think this movie is worth watching for Julio the little latin kid he cracks me up. Danny McBride does a great job aswell. there are some funny parts but the movie can really make you almost feeling depressed but turns it around at the end. ITs worth taking a look. (N)

Devilman (Debiruman)
by JoelThis movie has some great effects and steers away from the original anime a bit but it still is worth seeing i guess the thing that hurts it is the run time it seems to be slow in parts and the movie took forever to finish but it is a different kind of movie and the director manages to find some very cool shots mixed in with a lot of ugly ones though (nn)

The Boss of it All (Direktøren for det hele)
by scottenjoyable danish film from aclaimed director lars von tier, and using all his usuall neat styles, concerning a boss of a company, who is now selling company and who employs a actor during its last week of business, to act as the boss, as hes never made it known he is the owner, due to lack of self esteem, and needs actor to conduct business, it also helps that, hes not been entirely honest in his work,,so the actor gets to work, trying to be all method in his aproach, while not having a clue, but just running along with it,its when the actor gets in with the workers that he will get to see things for how they really are, a well observed comedy/drama, very european in its comedy, some good touches throughout,
