The Darjeeling Limited
by ~Lissa~This is definitely a movie worth watching. I really enjoyed the way the characters all played off each other. I think they were cast well because all three actors fit them. Owen Wilson as the older brother all beat up (both inside and out) who brought his two younger brothers to India on a spiritual journey to find their mother. Although that last part is not known to Adrian Brody and Jason Schwartzman.
There were scenes that were funny but touching at the same time. Who knew you could get kicked off a train in the middle of India and still survive.
I have enjoyed other Wes Anderson movies except for The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. I'm glad he got me back after this one.
If you already had this movie in your must see list, you gotta bump it up and watch it soon!posted 464 days ago -
I recommend you see...ok so i repeated myself in my review but i'm too lazy to redo it lol :)
Garage Days
by ~Lissa~I stumbled upon this film on IFC when I was bored, looking for a movie. I missed about 15 minutes of it but what kept me on the channel was the song. I think the soundtrack is the best thing about this movie. Besides having a few laughs in between.
The movie is about a band that isn't that good but still living the dream of making it big. They all love each other and are just trying to make it big.
The dinner scene with her parents was pretty funny and I'm still confused, was the girl taking a bath in blood real or not?
Anyways, if you stumble upon this movie I say give it a go!posted 464 days ago -
I recommend you see...hi! it's me! how have you been? watched a funny movie lately? :D
Good Luck Chuck
by ~Lissa~So I have to admit the first time I pressed play I was a little tipsy and passed out before they met. But thankfully the dvd was still there so I could watch it sober last night.
I wanted a few laughs and this movie delivered.
I haven't been a fan of Dane Cook and let me tell you after seeing him in the bathtub I was like please keep your clothes on and stay with the jokes!!
Jessica Alba.....what can I say about her but yes she is hot and yes she can act, I think, because I really didn't know until I saw the gag reel and she could keep a straight face (almost). What movie is she known for?
Overall, I had a good time watching this movie. Is it a bad thing that I totally knew the poster they were referring to? I mean of course I haven't done all those positions but damn they were funny!
Watch this movie for a few good laughs then watch the extras for more!posted 481 days ago -
I recommend you see...Hey, you should really see this!
Freaks
by DorothyA great horror film from the golden age in movies. What makes it even scarier is that all the "freaks" are REAL. These are real people folks from the circus sideshows.

I recommend you see...i don't know who, what, where, when the watchmen are, is but the trailer looked cool! :)
The Dark Knight
by ~Lissa~So I had planned to see this on my birthday and when I went to buy tickets a week before, I shouldn't have been surprised that it was sold out! I had to see it on Imax, which by the way you should too cause it's awesome! So I had to wait a day later but I will say it again, it was worth the wait!
I definitely think it was in the same realm as Batman Begins, but that movie was just the beginning.
I have to disagree with all the critics that say that the only reason why so many people saw it was because of Heath Ledger's untimely death. Do they not know we have been talking about this movie for over a year now? Don't they know how excited we were with each new poster and how much we died to see a new glimpse of the movie???
The Joker was great! He did an excellent job. Totally different from how Jack Nickleson portrayed him, a lot darker, and that was perfect!
Christian Bale is still my favorite pick for Batman. I have to admit though when I first heard him speak, I giggled. It sounded so funny to how Bruce Wayne talked.
Kudos to Christopher Nolan for doing such a great job and I'm excited to see what happens next.
I heard that Two Face looked horrible but when I saw him for the first time, I loved it! I don't know why but that whole skeleton look really did it for me. I wish we could have seen more.
If you waited and talked about this movie as long as I did, I don't think you will be disappointed. Actually, the only disappointment you'll feel is when Batman is driving away and you realize the movie may be finished. I was disappointed that when me and a few others stayed until the credits were done, there wasn't anything there. Wish someone (and I think he knows who he is) would have written his review already!
So what are you waiting for?! Go see this on Imax!posted 524 days ago -

WALL-E
by ~Lissa~Who knew that a non-talking robot could make a movie so great, and an animation at that!
Wall*E is just one of those movies you must see regardless if it's your type of movie or not.
He's this cute endearing waste collecting robot that's left on Earth to clean up our mess. The humans have left years ago when the planet became too unhabitable.
Wall*E lives a happy life, finding treasures in the trash that he takes home to share with his friend the cockroach.
One of the treasures he finds is a living plant that ultimitely leads to the love of his life, Eve. She is sent down to Earth to determine if it's sustainable and Wall*E falls head over heels for her.
The whole movie moved along so nice and really captures your attention. It was funny to see how much of slobs the humans had become because I can totally see that happening. Robots taking over, that too. Mankind fighting their way back to reclaim Earth, hopefully.
Whether old or young, animation fan or not, go see this movie! I can't imagine you'd regret it!posted 535 days ago -
I recommend you see...On Flixster, the more like this shows American Psycho but I had to give it a thumbs down since I don't agree! Watch it and let me know what you think!
Apartment Zero
by ~Lissa~This is Colin Firth like you've never seen him before! If you are used to Mr. Darcy, then you will be as surprised as I was to see him in this role. He was excellent!
He is just weird as Adrian LeDuc who rents a room to Jack Carney, played by Hart Bochner. The story unfolds as a killer is on the loose and Adrian is dealing with the deterioration of his ailing mother. He just keeps getting weirder and weirder and I blame his nosy neighbors, who are also weird in their own right.
I didn't expect the movie to end as it did but when you think about it, it all makes sense.
My mom recommended this movie to me when we were in Buenos Aires, since that is where the movie takes place. Didn't recognize any of the sites, but it was well worth a watch.posted 536 days ago -

The Bucket List
by ~Lissa~If I wasn't on a plane, surrounded by strangers, I would have cried.
It was a good movie made better by Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. They have both played powerful parts in other movies, it's different to see them powerless against their struggle against cancer.
It doesn't really matter that the CGI isn't great because it isn't so much what they are seeing, but what they are learning about life.
Worth a watch!posted 553 days ago -

Iron Man
by ~Lissa~Great movie! Who needs the Man of Steel when you have Iron Man? Ok ok calm down I'm just saying...
Robert Downey Jr. was perfect for this role. I'm so happy that he found it and hope to see more of him in the future. Keep off the drugs and do more flixs like this Bob!
I have to sadly admit that I walked into the theater 10 minutes late and hope I didn't miss anything. It looked like I did when I saw he was already captured but thankfully it went into the days before that.
I liked how cocky he was even when he was trying to do good. Kinda hard to continue to make weapons of mass destruction when you see they are being used against your own.
I must have missed a lot of trailers because I was surprised when Gwyneth Paltrow showed up as Pepper Potts, which by the way was a great name! And what was up with The Dude?! He get cut off from the White Russians or what? I knew he was evil when I saw that he was bald!
Even though The Incredible Hulk had a lot of nostalgia, I liked this one better because it had more action and was funny. Yeah it didn't have as much heart as the other one, but all the geeky stuff was cool.
I liked his toys and how they made cute noises like they were alive. The one that kept spraying him was funny.
I went into this movie having never read the comic book, hell I didn't even know it was based on one until I saw Stan Lee. I liked the character and I believe you don't need to be a fanboy to enjoy it.
I did stay for the credits and you should too! I have no idea who Samuel L. Jackson's character was, but if he shows up wanting your help, you better jump on board!
Oh and now the whole Tony Stark showing up in The Incredible Hulk makes sense.
Hope you enjoy as much as I did!posted 558 days ago -

The Incredible Hulk
by ~Lissa~I liked it! And I haven't even seen the other one that everybody is comparing it to. I just remember that one from the trailers looked silly.
It was good times watching this movie. Brought a lot of memories back. I wonder if my brother still has his Hulk jammies. Oh and when Lou Ferrigno let him pass with the pizza! Great cameo! I remember when he was at Safeway signing autographs and I was too scared to go up to him with my brothers, but of course they made me and he turned out to be so nice!
I enjoyed the action, it was fun to watch him smash a car to use as a shield. That crazy sound force machine thing, wow! Not strong enough for him though!
When he roared at the thunder and lightning on the cliff, it kinda reminded me of King Kong. The intensity in his eyes when he looked at her, loved it! I love the big green guy!
I was so happy that his blood pressure shot up too high for them to get farther than second base (or is it third base?) cause that would have just ruined it!
So great when he said "HULK SMASH"! Made it all worth it.
Can't finish this without mentioning how well Edward Norton did. I think this movie would not have been as good if it wasn't for him.
The ending was interesting and made me immediately buy a ticket for Iron Man! Well not immediately since we were the only ones who stayed after the credits hoping there was something more.
Can't wait to see what's next!posted 558 days ago -

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
by ~Lissa~I liked it! It was goofy and lots of fun to watch Indy do his thing again.
When I was in the restroom washing my hands after the movie I overheard two women talking about it. They were saying how ridiculous it was and unbelievable the things that were put in the movie. This made me smile because those women obviously didn't watch the last one. This also made me like it even more.
The crystal skull looked pretty cool and how could you not think it looked like an alien? The scenery was also lovely and I swear I have seen those falls before.
I think Shia LaBeouf played alongside of Harrison Ford well. This movie reminded me of why I've always liked Harrison Ford.
I haven't seen any bad reviews for this movie. Not sure why it would get some?
This is a must see for all you Indiana Jones fans out there!posted 580 days ago
