Forgetting Sarah Marshall
by ~Lissa~After seeing this movie I too am shocked to see that the overall Flixster rating is only 2 1/2 stars! WTF kind of people are on this site rating movies?!
This movie was hilarious! Within the first 10 minutes me and the audience were cracking up when he took off the towel. Loved the sound effects!
I like movies like this that are funny and you can relate to them, that is if you are an old fart like me.
Poor Peter Bretter gets his heart stomped on by Sarah Marshall and taking his stepbrother's advice, he takes a trip to Hawaii. Unfortunately she has already checked in with her new rocker boyfriend Aldous Snow. Things aren't all bad as he soon finds out when the cute front desk attendant takes a liking to him.
The storyline was great as the movie moved along nicely, the jokes kept coming, and you learn some new sex positions.
If you had a good time watching any of the other movies, you will definitely enjoy this one! Hurry and see it while it's still in the theaters!posted 594 days ago -

25th Hour
by ~Lissa~Another great Ed Norton movie and a Spike Lee joint.
Monty has one last night to enjoy before he is sent off to prison for seven years. He decides to spend it by visiting with his dad and hanging out with his two best friends and girlfriend. He also had to meet with his boss that thinks he ratted him out to the cops when he was pulled in.
Monty doesn't know who tipped off the cops about the location of the drugs in his apartment, but hopes to find out who his true friends are.
The fuck you scene was classic Spike Lee and I knew this by the way I cringed as the scene continued. I loved it and Ed pulled it off wonderfully. Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the sad faced teacher that is dragged along for the night, was also acted well.
This is a definite must see if you are an Ed Norton fan!posted 598 days ago -

Horton Hears a Who!
by ~Lissa~"After all, a person is a person no matter how small"
This was a funny good movie to see on a Saturday afternoon in a theater packed with kids. I was a little worried seeing it at this time since I thought the kiddies would be talking through the whole movie but imagine my surprise when at one point, the whole theater was silent as Horton was searching for the dandelion. He kept calling for the mayor and after he sadly called mayor one last time, it was hilarious when a kid in the theater cried out "Mayor!".
I think this was classic Jim Carrey and I loved him as Horton. He was so funny and did a great job being a jokester but also showing how important it was for him to keep his word.
I liked Steve Carell as the Mayor but it really just sounded like Michael from The Office, but in a Who costume.
Carol Burnett as Kangaroo was perfect and she complemented both Jim and Steve well. Or maybe they complemented her well.
Overall it was a fun movie to watch and had heart. I will definitely buy this one when it is released!

Johnny Dangerously
by ~Lissa~This is a fun movie to watch. I think Michael Keaton was the best pick to be Johnny Dangerously. He has that cocky way about him and the way he looks at the camera and says hey kids, perfect!
I first saw this movie years ago when I was too young to know it was a spoof on gangster movies. Imagine my surprise when I saw The Godfather years later and realized mobsters weren't as goofy as Joe Piscopo in this one.
The movie starts out like a lot of mobster movies with Johnny Kelly as a young boy trying to do right by his family but he is drawn into the gangster life when he sees it's the way to get his mom her pancreas back.
I really liked Marilu Henner in this but it was Maureen Stapleton that steals the show.

Identity
by ~Lissa~Great movie! It has a little horror mixed into a thriller with mystery and an ending to blow your mind.
I really liked John Cusack and Ray Liotta and how their characters were opposites but played off each other well.
As you are trying to figure out who the killer is and what is going on with all the number keys, you also wonder what does the lawyers talking to the judge have to do with it.
Just when you think you've just figured it out, guess again!

Meet Joe Black
by ~Lissa~Death could not look any better!
Anthony Hopkins and Brad Pitt were really good in this movie. It is interesting how their roles changed throughout the movie. Great storyline.
He was on top of the world until he heard Death was knocking on his door. What a great party to send him off and the fireworks were amazing!
I really liked the ending.
You should watch this at least once.posted 712 days ago -

Sweet November
by ~Lissa~Not one of my favorite movies to watch but if you like to see Charlize Theron be cute then it is an okay movie.
Watching this I was like Keanu Reeves wondering if she was a high priced call girl that slept with a different man every month. Why did she feel the urge to help him in the first place?
I did think that Keanu did a good job of being a high strung prick, especially when he asked his boss to fire him again. But honestly I like Keanu better when he is Neo.
I also enjoyed when they went to the dinner party and he saw his rival dressed in drag. I thought he looked pretty good.
The whole remember how I was before I was sick, I can relate to that, because I too would want that.
Watch this movie if you are feeling melancholy and want to remember why life is too short to watch movies you don't enjoy.posted 721 days ago -
