(500) Days of Summer

Great movie. I loved it's honest, unconventional story. I found myself having flashbacks to my single days, and sympathising with Joseph Gordon Levitt's character. I thought the way the director randomised the dates was very clever, as he made the story more engaging though it's unpredictability. 500 Days Of Summer is a refreshing rom-com that you'll want to watch again, and recommend to everyone.

A Meticulously crafted film with strong stylish direction by Oscar winner Peter Jackson. A strange and hypnotic supernatural tale about a brutally murdered 14 year old girl ( Saoirise Ronan in an extraordinary performance ) who is lost in the limbo of the afterlife between Heaven and earth and finds ways to communicate with her grieving father (Mark Wahlberg in a solid performance) to help find the pedophile monster (Stanley Tucci in a truly chilling performance) that rape and killed her and who now threatens the life of her little sister. This film is a marvel of production design with astounding visual effects and striking cinematography by Andrew Lesnie. A beautiful film of profound emotion. Highly Recommended.

Kramer vs. Kramer

Profound writing, impeccable performances. Hoffmand and Streep have never been better in this deeply moving masterpiece, which is just as relevant 30 years after it's production as it was when it reaped several academy awards in its' heyday.

Punisher: War Zone

so much blood but besides the dazzling guns and awesome war scenes when you get right down to it its good and better than the other punisher flim

iMurders

It was better than I thought it would be! I guessed the ending right before it ended. Worth taking a look!

Harakiri

Another Janus film worthy of it's Cannes Jury Prize and it's "Criterion Collection" selection. This film is timeless, and exposes the ubiquitous nature of corruption, and the lengths of desperation, even among the most honorable.

Goodbye Solo

Hello, "Solo", and welcome to my list of the ten best movies of the year. This didn't quite make the 5 star rating, but I can't quite put my finger on why. Nevertheless, this "Visitor"-like film gets high marks.

Audition (Ôdishon)

David Lynch, take notes. This is what "Mulholland Drive" tried to do, but failed. "Auditon" is a much more harrowing and haunting dream sequence, with a deeper and darker sense of suspense. However, as good as this was, "Lady Vengeance" still reigns as queen of revenge.
